USS CHINOOK, At Sea — USS Chinook provided assistance to an Iraqi fishing boat in the North Arabian Gulf after it experienced mechanical problems at sea, June 22.

U.S. and Iraqi Sailors aboard the Basra Oil Terminal, as part of Combined Task Force Iraqi Maritime, received a distress call from the fishing boat Kadem Alabbas approximately 50 miles from the Kuwaiti coast, which had been adrift at sea for three days.

Chinook, which was in port at Kuwait Naval Base, was dispatched to the scene to assist.

Upon arrival, Chinook's commanding officer, Lt. Cmdr. Allen L. Maxwell, Jr., sent his boarding team to evaluate the conditions aboard Kadem Alabbas and establish the level of assistance required.

Once determined repairs to the boat would need to be completed ashore, Chinook towed Kadem Alabbas approximately 30 miles until it was handed off to an Iraqi Navy Patrol Boat for further transfer to Basrah, the vessel's home port.

"This is what we do," said Maxwell. "Navy PC's and Iraqi Patrol Boats are very capable platforms and we had an opportunity to display just how flexible we are and how well we work together."

Coalition forces have a long standing tradition of helping mariners in distress by providing assistance, such as food, water and rescues at sea.

"It took some time and patience, but we got it done and also showed these mariners that Coalition ships in the Arabian Gulf are out here to help."

Cool. I didn’t even know the U.S. Navy had such things as Cyclone class patrol boats.

You're way ahead of me. I thought a Chinook was a helicopter.

LOL—I started by wondering why the heck a Lieutenant Commander is commanding an Aegis class destroyer!

The Cyclone class PCs have been around for 19 years.

They had them, gave them away to the Coast Guard, and now they’re taking them back because Admiral Roughead needs them for his globalist ‘thousand ship’ ‘diversity’ program.

Adm. Roughead is a globalist? That’s good to hear. Naval officers should be globalists.

That’s a thoughtless comment. You clearly have no idea about the man.

No, I don't . . . and you continue to make that possible.

I imagine you’re pretty happy today, Cap and Trade, a billion to the IMF, Brazil taking GM and a billion in our taxes, the UN is holding their conference on controlling global finance, the G8 pretending to be legitimate government in Italy, your plan is really coming together.

You might find a cap & trade thread around here somewhere, if you look hard enough. Why don’t you try to hijack one of those?

Did you know that the USS Chinook is the very first U.S. Navy ship to make an overnight visit to an Iraqi port? I learned it right here.

The primary mission of these ships is coastal patrol and interdiction surveillance, an important aspect of littoral operations outlined in the Navy's strategy, "Forward...From the Sea." The craft are able to transport small SEAL teams and their specialized delivery craft or Coast Guard boarding teams for counter-drug inspections. These ships also provide full mission support for Navy SEALs and other special operations forces. The Cyclone class ships are assigned to Naval Special Warfare. Of the thirteen ships, nine operate out of the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek in Special Boat Squadron Two, and four operate from the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado at San Diego. These ships provide the Naval Special Warfare Command with a fast, reliable platform that can respond to emergent requirements in a low intensity conflict environment.

They have limited endurance for their size, and their combat systems and ammunition allowance do not compare well with similar ships in most other navies. They are about ten times the size of their predecessors but carry about the same payload. It was belatedly discovered that they are too large for the close inshore work for which they were intended. Looks like it was designed and developed by protectionists.

Oh and you said it was cool! LOL

And the opposite of protectionist, here the globalists use the United Nations shall provide the standards by which your cap and trade globalist garbage bill will be applied:

H. R. 2454

"Methodology- In setting carbon dioxide equivalent values, for purposes of this section or section 711, the Administrator shall take into account publications by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change or a successor organization under the auspices of the United Nations Environmental Programme and the World Meteorological Organization."

and

"the reduction otherwise satisfies and is consistent with any relevant requirements established by an agreement reached under the auspices of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change."

and

the Administrator may extend the phase out deadline for the issuance of international offset credits under this section by up to 8 years with respect to eligible activities taking place in a least developed nation, which is a foreign country that the United Nations has identified as among the least developed of developing countries at the time that the Administrator determines to provide an extension, provided that the Administrator, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development, determines the nation--

which mentions that pesky unconstitutional USAID agency, so prominent in the redistribution of our wealth under "free trade"

more UN control

Under the Bali Action Plan, developed country parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, including the United States, committed to `enhanced action on the provision of financial resources and investment to support action on mitigation and adaptation and technology cooperation,' including, inter alia, consideration of `improved access to adequate, predictable, and sustainable financial resources and financial and technical support, and the provision of new and additional resources, including official and concessional funding for developing country parties' .

and unconstitutionally the USAID group is to review UN programs for 'climate change'

any program or mechanism established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change related to greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation

and the US has to report to the UN

UNITED STATES GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS- The term `United States greenhouse gas emissions' means the total quantity of annual greenhouse gas emissions from the United States, as calculated by the Administrator and reported to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat.

More globalist bull*

the Administrator may decrease the frequency of review and revision under paragraph (2) if the Administrator determines that such decrease is appropriate in order to synchronize such review and revisions with any similar review process carried out pursuant to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, an agreement negotiated under that convention, The Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, or an agreement negotiated under that convention, except that in no event shall the Administrator carry out such review and revision any less frequently than every 10 years.

Usurpation of the US Constitution here:

(a) Finding- Congress finds that the purposes of this part, as set forth in section 761, can be most effectively addressed and achieved through agreements negotiated between the United States and foreign countries.

`(b) Statement of Policy- It is the policy of the United States to work proactively under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and in other appropriate forums, to establish binding agreements, including sectoral agreements, committing all major greenhouse gas-emitting nations to contribute equitably to the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions.

`(c) Notification of Foreign Countries- Not later than January 1, 2020, the President shall notify foreign countries that an International Reserve Allowance Program, as described in subpart 2, may apply to primary products produced in a foreign country by a sector for which the President has made a determination described in section 767(c).

more globalist wealth giveaway

Under Article 4 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, developed country parties, including the United States, committed to `take all practicable steps to promote, facilitate, and finance, as appropriate, the transfer of, or access to, environmentally sound technologies and know-how to other parties, particularly developing country parties, to enable them to implement the provisions of the Convention'.

(7) Under the Bali Action Plan, developed country parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, including the United States, committed to `enhanced action on the provision of financial resources and investment to support action on mitigation and adaptation and technology cooperation,' including, inter alia, consideration of `improved access to adequate, predictable, and sustainable financial resources and financial and technical support, and the provision of new and additional resources, including official and concessional funding for developing country parties'.

Too bad there isn't anyone left in the government that hasn't been corrupted by the "free trader" globalist nightmare. We could use some protectors of the Constitution, protectionists if you will, to save this country now!
