Democratic strategist James Carville has sent out an e-mail for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee warning Democrats that the GOP could rebound in 2010 and take over the Senate just as they did in 1994.
In 1994, Carville writes, "things were a lot like they are today. A young, exciting president. Big majorities in Congress. We figured we'd have plenty of time to build the America we wanted.
"You know what happened next. Fifty-four new Republicans elected in the House. Eight new Republicans elected in the Senate. Our moment of opportunity had passed.
"Republicans are hoping 2010 is the new 1994. But heck, they don't need eight new senators. If they gain just one or two, it's going to be that much easier for them to scuttle vital legislation."

Actually, the 1994 GOP victory may have been a major reason Clinton was re-elected in 1996. Their success saved him; he claimed their victories as his own and people bought it. I’ve begun to wonder if Obama has considered that as a way to win re-election in 2012. He seems to win minds and votes through blackmail and threats, so it wouldn’t make that much of a difference who’s doing the voting in Congress.
I have been saying for EONS...
IF the GOP wants to win they will ask all members to submit letters of resignation effective at the end of the term and seek out 535 new faces to run.
I'd start by looking for officers back from the Afgan and Iraq. They have more decision making skills and common sense get it done in one indivdual than the entire 535 combined...
Yep, and the worst part is, the Dems are giving the GOP much more ammunition this time around, but the GOP is not firing any shots.
But they won't save us from the GOP
So give me money
Thats what I want
James Carville
American Conservatives in the street - taking back the country
that and some 2A supporters LOL
This prediction will come true, if we (Republicans) do not screw-up.
I don’t think the local parties are doing much to organize, if they were; they’d be much more likely to WIN!
The tea parties are doing more organizing than the GOP, IMO.
If they pass cap and tax, it is over for all of us.
pop
Carville heck we are aiming at having all of the seats up for reelection in 2010!
It’s time for a new Newt to come up with a new “Contract with America” with both teeth and a vision of hope to give voters a REASON to vote republican.
