As I sit here in Houston, I’m watching the Port of Houston’s representative, Gene Green, rising in support of the bill while giving plenty of reasons why this bill will destroy jobs in his own district. Instead of opposing it, he wants to start a trade war which will probably destroy even more jobs. Where do we get these people?

Indian and Chinese stocks may start looking pretty good if this passes.

Where do we get these people? And just wait till our country is run by the youngsters from the public school system. Bills like cap and trade won't need to be 1000 pages long because our reps won't be able to read it. It'll have just one page that says "Vote yes on this" with a graphic that shows someone standing up and saying "aye."

(I plan to give the new President the same respect and dignity the other side gave Bush.)
