Really, it was 4 pubs who passed it. 4 switching to “Nay” would have meant defeat.

Frank A. LoBiondo (born May 12, 1946) is a Traitor Who Voted For Cap And TAX!! American Republican Party politician, who has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 1995, representing New Jersey’s Second Congressional District (map). The Second Congressional District is at the southern end of New Jersey, and by far the biggest Congressional District in the state. It includes all of Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem Counties and parts of Camden, Gloucester and Burlington Counties.

Born in Bridgeton, New Jersey, he attended Georgetown Preparatory School, and then he received a B.A. in Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He worked for twenty-six years in a family-owned trucking company.

LoBiondo served on the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 1985 to 1987 and was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly (the lower chamber of the New Jersey Legislature) from 1988 to 1994. In 1992, he ran for the House but was defeated by William Hughes in a closer race than would be expected for a challenger against a popular incumbent. When Hughes declined to run for reelection in 1994, LoBiondo ran again and was elected to the House. He is a member of the Armed Services Committee and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. LoBiondo is a member of the moderate Republican Main Street Partnership.

Markey is a first term Dem in a red district here. This could be big for defeating her. Salazar, from a pink district, was smart enough to vote no. Wonder what his brother in the Senate will do???

LOL! I just got this from Wikipedia:

I have no idea why so many are focussing on the 8 GOPers. The so-called conservative dims who voted for this POS should be the real targets. Let’s keep the blame where blame is due - the dims.

This is my rep. She’s a hardcore D and voted for this travesty without blinking an eye.I’m putting her on notice that she is a target for defeat in 2010. It doubtless is an uphill fight in this heavily Democrat district, but any steps, however small, have to be taken now to overturn this statist oligarchy.

I think he votes no.

The House is a lunatic asylum, and it’s easier to get away with chicanery there.

The thing is, the 8 pub defectors struck a double blow against us. How so, you might ask. Here’s how:

The 8 pub yes votes freed up 8 rats to vote no and thus save themselves in their own districts. So, not only did the rats prevail, but now we’ve got 8 pubs who will likely get voted out instead of having the strength of incumbency going for them, and 8 corresponding rats who get to look like heroes and will likely win re-election. That’s 16 seats negatively/adversely affected for pubs.

BTW, we only needed to hang onto 4 of those pubs to defeat the bill (216-215). The pub whip and minority leader failed.
