A similar thing happened in San Francisco about 12 years ago. A man jumped from the inner balcony of a Hyatt, I think, and landed right in front of some people eating their breakfast in a courtyard restaurant. Most of them reportedly simply continued eating.
I remember that although I can’t say if it was a Hyatt. The jumper actually struck a diner and injured her.
