Credit where credit is due. 10 year old Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five were groundbreaking. The kid was a major talent.

His Thriller album was a perfect storm. Quincy Jones was at the top of his game, and MJ could sing and dance.

It all went down hill from there.

Agreed. Adding Eddie Van Halen to “Beat It” was genius, imho.

I agree.

Jackson 5 to Thriller was phenomenal, and Jackson by most accounts was a pretty normal kid.

Around 1987 the weirdness started.

Yep, “The Corporation” used their best songs and musicians on those early Jackson 5 songs, and “Thriller” was essentially a Quincy Jones album.

True, but all that doesn't elevate him to the level so many are claiming for him.
