SarahPAC pushes for donations to meet deadline today (Palin Ping! - No.26 - June 30, 2009)

WASHINGTON -- Gov. Sarah Palin's supporters got yet another request to donate money this week, this time to her political action campaign.

Seeking a bump in the committee's fundraising numbers by the June 30 deadline, SarahPAC sent out an e-mail soliciting as many contributions as possible by day's end today.

"Please give before June 30th. Your help is critical," wrote SarahPAC spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton in an e-mail sent Monday from the political action committee.

Stapleton was referencing the deadline for reporting donations to the PAC from the first half of the year. The report is due to the Federal Election Commission on July 31.

"With your help, we can take the Governor's message and encourage others who also have hope and are firmly rooted in the conservative belief that you know how best to spend your money and not government," Stapleton wrote.

The solicitation is the second big push for donations this month from organizations connected to Palin. The governor's friends and supporters earlier this month held an online appeal that raised more than $100,000 toward their $500,000 goal to help Palin pay an estimated $600,000 in legal bills. The donations, which are capped at $150, go to the Alaska Fund Trust. The "webathon" was promoted by the pro-Palin Web site Conservatives4Palin and Team Sarah, an anti-abortion social networking site launched during last year's election.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

No. 09-164

Governor Opposes Waxman-Markey Energy Bill

June 29, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin announced today she does not support a controversial piece of federal climate change legislation that is making its way through Congress. The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 is authored by U.S. Representatives Henry Waxman and Ed Markey. Governor Palin is concerned about the economic and environmental impacts the legislation could have on Alaska. “This bill does not offer enough flexibility to states to meet national standards and goals,” Governor Palin said. “Flexibility is particularly important for Alaska. Our cold climate and rural populations make it difficult for Alaskans to implement technologies that work elsewhere. Again, this is a case of one size doesn’t fit all.”

Multiple state agencies are continuing to review the version of the legislation that passed the U.S. House. Previous versions of the bill presented problems in nearly every facet of industry, commerce, and everyday life for Alaskans. State agencies found inadequacies in the areas of mitigation, allocations, infrastructure, and adaptation.

The governor also noted some of the broad policy statements in the bill will likely lead to stricter regulations that don't necessarily solve any problems.

Governor Palin intends to work with Alaska's congressional delegation to address the state's concerns.

this is exactly what Palin does not need.....photo shoots.....except if they showed her in a business suit working at a desk....

we all love her outdoorsy look...her lean figure...her bouncy hair...

but its time to move on...time to focus on her knowledge base and political connections...
