A Yemenia Airways Airbus A310 jetliner flying from Yemen to the Comoros Islands with 153 people on board crashed early Tuesday after hitting bad weather -- an incident likely to raise fresh questions about the small Middle Eastern carrier's safety record.
Rescue teams found one survivor and retrieved several bodies from the Indian Ocean, where the plane came down about 20 miles off the port of Moroni, the Comoros capital, a Yemeni aviation official told Saba, Yemen's official news agency. The survivor was a 14-year-old girl, according to the Associated Press.
