I see an Amtrak train frequently because it parallels my route to work for several miles and apparently our schedules coincide. I look carefully into the train a few times a month and each time it is entirely empty.
For as long as I can remember I had wanted to travel on a train, last summer I finally had an opportunity to to do that.
First thing the train was 2 1/2 hrs. late, it was filthy, the employees were rude, and the food, airline food would be fine dining in comparison.
And they made a point to announce that anyone smoking on board would be arrested, the train would be stopped immediately, and the perp would be hauled off to the local jail, wherever that may be.
Amtrak no thanks.
