Reagan was by no means an “abortion supporter”. However he was in a similar situation with Romney in that he did what he could in a very liberal state which is what I was trying to argue. National Review has a pretty good article about the soul searching Reagan went through before signing the bill knowing that if he didn’t sign it his veto would be overridden. To Regan’s credit he did try to alter the bill before signing it. Like I said, he did what he could.
