Well, well, well. Looks like the invisible hand of the market is passing judgement on 0's takeover of GM and Chrysler. Good!

I know Ford got suckered into some other nonsense and took some of our cash for R&D, but nonetheless they remain the last, best hope for a US Auto industry.

Lesson learned. Don’t beg for govt. dollars. The consumers don’t like it.

Month to month or year-on-year?

In the total scheme of things that is not bad for Ford. Looks like fewer takers for Obama Motors.

GM & Chrysler will become black holes where the Dems will pour cash by the billions until it becomes apparent that the hamster is dead............

I like the headline:
US auto sales declines show signs of leveling off
. If Bush were still in office, it would be, "Auto sales continue their plunge".

It's year-over-year, they must have changed the title of the story, now it says: US auto sales declines show signs of stability.

Now don't that pig look pretty in lipstick?

Year-on-year. So 10% off June 2008. I forget if we had gone over the cliff by then or were still marching towards it?

Quite. Somehow I can’t see small businesses rushing to buy pickups from Obamotors.

The economy will not recover so long as it continues to be nationalized. It can only recover by reversing this trend.

My fault. The main headline was meaningless (as you note). The meat is in the subhead.

Not a surprise at all. People are buying Toyota and Honda...much better cars and last forever.

Just how exactly is GM’s 33% plunge in sales “holding their own?”

Yep, CEO Obama branded GM and Chrysler well.  Adios suckers...

Those union workers sure must be thrilled with their November '08 votes.

The following is directed to all Freepers in general.

Some Freepers see everything through a red, white, and blue filter.  Lets prove right now how many of us do.  1% of the Freepathon total has been reached.

Do the deed.  Click those smiling faces right now.  Spread the word...

Obama’s “Cash for Clunkers” program just gave consumers a reason to postpone auto purchases until the plan is finalized and dealers are certified. What a way to stimulate the economy!

Actually I am not sure anything really bothers Obama. He was tauting National Health Care today in Virginia. He tried to claim we are only changing insurance...not anything medical except unnecessary procedures. Made me say....hummmmmmmmmm.

The owner of my company (a small business) told me yesterday to get a quote on a Ford pickup. He said he was through with Goverment Motors.

If Ford goes hyper pro-gay again, I’m done with them too.

As it is I tend to buy used. Support local used car dealers, I can get Fords if I want them.

Another very telling statistic is market share.

In June 2008 FORD had 16% market share and in June 2009 FORD has 25% market share.

Meanwhile at GOVERNMENT MOTORS their market share has dropped from 25% in June 2008 to 23% in June 2009.

The Invisible Hand of capitalism seems to be working just fine.
