Jim Geraghty has some interesting insights about why liberals hate Sarah Palin so much -- in a word (or so), it's because she invalidates the most cherished parts of their world view.
I think Jim's right, but I think there's even more to it than that. Governor Palin has been attacked with the kind of ferocity that few people in the public eye have ever experienced -- except, perhaps, for Justice Thomas and (to a lesser extent) Joe the Plumber. Why does the left reserve their most vicious derision for these three, and those like them? As I wrote last fall in a Townhall column:
Justice Thomas, Governor Palin and Joe the Plumber have one thing in common: Their lives make a mockery of the Democrat Party’s raison d’etre – its foundational assertion that minorities, women and “regular guys” can get a “fair shake” in America only through government action. What’s more, all three of them have made it clear that they don’t want the government’s “help.” For that apostasy, and for their sheer ingratitude – after all, aren’t the Democrats the ones who “care” about blacks, women and “working men”? – the left has tried to destroy them.
They want her to be like Helen Thomas
They will not destroy her, nor will we replace her. tsk tsk.

Did you see where Helen and someone named Chip Reid got up into Obama’s press secretary’s face? Even Helen has standards, it seems. Must’ve rubbed off from covering George Washington at Valley Forge.
They hate her so much because she might win.
They always go for the juggler of good, strong conservatives. Look how they did everything they could to bring down Cheney. They destroyed Gingrich (Remember, liberals who are caught cheating don’t step down; but they sure push conservatives to do so.). They took down Quayle.
When libs pull out all of the stops to destroy a conservative, we must be on the right track.
Well she and Helen have one thing in common: they are both outspoken
Because they mentally and, more importantly, spiritually deranged.
Government is their god and anybody who believes in any God other than government must be burned at the stake.

They hate Palin because she is electable. Her addition to McCain’s ticket almost won the election. The left was in a blind panic over Palin when her numbers immediately went through the roof. The mavens of radical feminism see in Palin the 7 headed beast of the apocalypse. The only reason Obama is president is because AIG and the bond market tanked. Republicans should want AIG’s board of directors’ heads on a pike. Same for scum like Madoff. America’s boardrooms are an ethical cesspool. As long as they feel free to lie, cheat and steal, the “party of business” will administer their own funeral. Obama didn’t win the election, the Republicans lost it.
I’d say let’s stand behind her. Long way to go before the next primary. The rinos are in league with the left to destroy her although she’s the reason that McCain had any chance in 2008.
No need to replace as the Liberals, Third Party and MittWitts will not keep Gov. Palin out of the election.
The only people attacking Gov. Palin are the ones who want to make sure Obama serves a second term
Women (potential voters) in the U.S. outnumber men. If Sarah Palin can capture the women vote, Obama is unlikely to re-elected.
On top of everything else, there is a spiritual warfare going on... Satan hates her for all of the above reasons and the "god of this world" wants nothing better than to destroy America as a force for Christ, God and good in this world. They hate her because they are all spiritually deceived by "the god of this world".
Why Do They Hate Her?I don't know why anyone needs to ask that question. It's because her confidence in herself to the core scares the sh!t out of them...Hate is the only thing they have.
Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet, something of a liberal in the past, just LOVES Sarah Palin and will work hard to see her elected in 2012. I’m sure there are MILLIONS like her.
