GAFFNEY, S.C. -- FOX Carolina has confirmed with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office that the four recent slayings in Gaffney are connected.
The Cherokee County Coroner released the name of the fourth victim early Friday morning.
Stephen Tyler, 48, was shot and killed at his business -- Tyler Home Center -- on Thursday night.
Tyler's 15-year-old daughter was also shot in the head and was transported to an area hospital. There is no word on her condition.
The shooting of the Tylers is only the latest incident in a violent spree of shootings. On Saturday, a peach farmer was killed. On Wednesday, a mother and daughter were found shot to death.
A press conference regarding the shootings is expected to be held later in the day.
Sheriff is giving a press conference as I type.
Escaped convicts? Robbers?
fyi
The related stories are just plain wierd.
Seems to be from the start just random.
Are/have the dead been linked in any way?
Be safe and keep us updated.
Good lord! Be careful and keep us posted.
there is no live feed on fox web site. did he sy hyhe thought they were related?
Just imagine how it will be when only the criminals have guns.
Would there be a connection between the owner of a Home Center and a farmer?
The Sheriff just said it seems to be random shootings. He said the perp seems to be going after women, although the first victim was a male. They think the perp was after the mans wife when he was killed.
I was just in Gaffney last week. It seems like such a peaceful, quite place!
The spokesman from the sheriff’s department says there is a connection with “hay for sale” signs in common.
It is frightening, local and state LED’s are making what appears to be the strongest effort to identify and catch the purp. That said, residents of Cherokee and surrounding counties need to stay armed and locked indoors until the murderer is caught.
Over the years, the I-85, Rt 11 and Rt 9 triangle has had more than its share of bizarre unsolved murders. Strange for an area that is full of conservative, armed, Bible clingers.
Probably people that Miss Lindsay Graham wants to give amnesty to.
GAFFNEY, S.C.— At a news conference Friday morning, the Cherokee County sheriff confirmed that a serial killer is responsible for five shootings in five days that have left four people dead and a teenager seriously injured.
Cherokee County Sheriff Bill Blanton said evidence connects all five shootings, and investigators believe one man is responsible.
Blanton said the killer is described as having salt and pepper hair, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, driving a silver 1991-1994 Ford Explorer.
He asked residents of the community to be vigilant and to call in with any information or suspicions they may have.
In the most recent attack on Thursday night, investigators said a business owner was shot to death and his teenage daughter was wounded inside a Gaffney furniture store.
This is from WYFF TV4 out of Greenville, SC. Lots more on the story here..

Where the second shooting took place, there is a “Hay for sale” sign, but it is 1/4 mile from the scene. I don’t think the sign has much to do with it, but I’m not a cop.
It seems to be business and community leaders are targets.
I was just repeating what they said on the report on Fox News, when they were interviewing the sheriff’s department spokesman.
Of course, the ballistics tests may have already connected the shootings.
The sheriff’s department spokesman did say that they are not revealing all their evidence.
Cherokee Co. Sheriff's Office Investigators released this sketch on Sunday of a person of interest in the case. (June 28, 2009)This sketch fits right into Janet Nappy's DHS 'Right Wing' Warning.
These morons are gonna cause us all BIG problems.
Unlike ghetto gang bangers and illegal alien killers with guns, 'WE' aren't 'a protected group'. (read: Dem voting bloc)
