Palin to make announcement from Wasilla at 3 [will not seek re-election]
Politico ^ | July 3, 2009 | Ben Smith

Posted on 07/03/2009 11:40:27 AM PDT by Al B.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will make what her office is only calling an "announcement" at 11 AM local (3 Eastern) from her home in Wasilla.

Speculation is raging both in Alaska and in the Lower 48 that she'll reveal her plans regarding next year's gubernatorial race.

So much for today being a slow news day.

I prefer to believe your story over LaWoman’s, for two reasons, I prefer to believe it, and secondly you have an actual news article to back it up, the other story doesn’t.

Fox now reporting she is transferring power to the Lt. Gov. .... based on a local Alaska affiliate’s report.

I hope someone hasn’t made a serious threat on her family.

Someone tried to burn her church down last year.

She is the only one I have faith in for 2012.

She’s resigning at the end of the month.

If this is true, she’s done.

speculating on CNN right now that she’s resigning because there is a Senate race coming up before the end of her gov term.

Jerk on FOX talking about Sarah being ridiculed, thin resume, etc. I’m just furious.

It just makes sense. It's PR she DOESN'T need which the rats would be glad to keep supplying. By resigning she can counter politicians like Obama and Kerry who were largely absent from their Senate jobs while they ran for President... or we could be completely wrong. Hopefully there's no scandal here.

I don’t want her running for the Senate, but it’s better than totally bailing. On the other hand, not finishing her term does not look good and ruins her chances for 2012 imo.

Todd Palin just confirmed it according to FOX.

Local AK reporter also gleaned this quote from Sarah: "You are naive if you don't see the full court press on a national level picking apart a good point guard."

Funny. The jack@ss on CNN didn't understand what that meant.

It sounds to me like she sees the writing on the wall within the Republican party!

Just exactly what did he confirm?

Head fake?

She “resigns because of the scurrilous attacks against her family.” The Left, unable to resist its vicious nature, keeps attacking her.

So, she’s set up for a big comeback—”I have to do this, not only to defend my family, but to defend America.”

(he said, hoping this is a crazy-like-a-fox move . . .)

Confirmed her resigning, not Senate run. Sorry about that.

I think she’s taken herself out of national politics . . . she’ll be a spokesperson or pundit ... but not a politician.

Boy, I hope McCain is thrown out of the Senate and his staffers suffer through years of unemployment!

I think she is just sick of the BS from both the left and those a**hat RINO elitist. A person can only stand so much. Maybe she is changing to an independent status and didn’t think it was right to keep a job she was voted in as a republican(one can only hope it is something like that).
