"Well, I think that the only reason that my position may appear unclear is because it came in the wake of a last-minute, 11th-hour change in conscience clause provisions that were pushed forward by the previous administration that we chose to reverse," Obama said. "But my underlying position has always been consistent, which is I'm a believer in conscience clauses. I was a supporter of a robust conscience clause in Illinois for Catholic hospitals and health care providers," Obama added.

Translation: One of my first acts in office was to reverse the conscience clause put in place by Bush. But pay no attention to that deed, it meant nothing, just listen to my words. Words are more important than deeds.

"And when I sign the FOCUS bill and totally abolish freedom of conscience for anyone in the health professions, it will be with a certain sense of distaste, like the distaste I felt in signing Nancy's pork-stuffed Stimulous Bill. But such things have to be done. We cannot remain with those tired old ways. We must forge ahead to a new tomorrow."

If the MSM started treating the ‘Bama like a Republican, a childish and ugly side would be revealed in about a week.

Love this...

He said the Bush regulations "hadn't been properly reviewed and thought through" and that "We are in the process of reviewing the possibilities of any changes to what was then."

Bullsh#t! Bush had more competent people than Zero. They knew the law and how it should be followed.

I would have loved to have smacked down that response right then and there. I would ask Zero to give me an example of one of Bush's regulations that were not thought through.

I would then blast him about his response of taking over private companies, and what gives him the authority to do such things.

Please... he is so damned arrogant.

As my grandfather said: “If a person lies, he will cheat. If he cheats, he will steal.” With Obama, that is proven true. What’s next? Murder? Oh, with his support of abortion and late term abortions, I guess he has his hand in that already.

What scandal indeed. As far as the White House is concerned, the only ‘scandal’ seems to be that some with extreme views chose to try to disrupt the president’s visit. And ‘smart thinking’ Catholics (as Biden claims he is), like some at Notre Dame, don’t think there is a scandal, so what of it? And therein lies the issue. We shouldn’t be surprised he said that.
