What bothers me on here are threads like this one that don’t understand starting another party or joining one means she would not have access on every ballot like Oklahoma. The Party has to get 5% in the last election to qualify for the ballot and we are not alone.
Some of you think you can snap your fingers and start another party. That couldn’t be further from the truth and the sooner some of you realize that, the better off we will all be. This notion that starting a new Party would end all problems is ludicrous.
Third parties have been around for years and don’t gain much traction. Sarah Palin will not leave the Republican Party but she is certainly going to do a makeover and get the GOP back to its roots.
I, for one, very much understand how difficult it is. But maybe Sarah is starting way ahead of the game.
If it's possible and she goes for it then she might pull it off.
So PhiKapMom says don’t do anything. Give up! You can’t win.
PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!
Wrong. It was last done in 1992 when the Reform Party achieved 20% of the vote nationally in that year's Presidential Election. I oughtta know, I was one of the people here in Illinois responsible for getting Perot's name on the ballot.
20% of us got it right that year, the remaining 80% of you pissed away your chances to make real, substantive change in this country.
Now you can get off your high horse and illogical defense of the Republicrat party and join the revolution, or you can stay where you're at and get run over. Your choice, either way people like myself just don't give a damn'. We're sick and tired of people like you whining, moaning and complaining only to give us the same old assholes in Washington DC who prefer to line their pockets with our hard earned taxpayer dollars and screw the rest of us.
Your choice: Lead, Follow, or get the hell out of the way.
There is a tipping point, when a third party will be viable. Are we at that point now or soon into the future? I don’t know. Perot at one point was leading in the polls. Has the standing and credibility of the two parties improved since 1992? I don’t think so, their reputation is as bad as it ever was. A Palin-launched Conservative Party would rip a huge hole in the GOP. The GOP should clean up its act or it can be replaced.
