Bull. Many states have virtually no concern for the integrity of their drivers licenses and will give them to anyone, even illegal aliens and terrorists.
Not only do I support the Real ID act, I think every state should require that level of identification for voting. I do agree that some states are too liberal on the "breeder" documents they accept, but this is only an argument to tighten up the requirements. Maybe the Real ID act is too weak?
Yeah, how about mandatory chip insertion?

You're afraid of a "chip" being inserted in your drivers license or Passport? The only concern I have about these is their security. My car keys already have a "chip" in them and so does the ID that allows me to get inside the building I work in. My cell phone has all kinds of "chips" including one that (theoretically) knows where I am at all times. Every merchant in the Country knows my buying habits from my credit card use and the government probably knows too.
I've got no problem with people who want to drop out of our society rather than have the scrutiny that comes with modern life. They, however, will have to put up with the nuisance of not being able to legally fly, drive, enter other countries, enter government buildings etc.
That's probably because you're from Minnesota. We would point and laugh except that your state's incompetence when it comes to running elections is going to be a catastrophe for the rest of us as well.

If you really think your draconian ID system is so great, then why don't you implement it at your state level instead of insisting that the rest of the country comply with your brain-addled schemes. Then, if it actually accomplished its goal, you could point to something that actually worked instead of your socialist style "if only we give the government more power we'll surely get a utopia this time" fantasy.
Folks we are under a threat! We must call our elected officials and tell them to vote NO. You must act now. We need to think about the direction of our country and put some effort into it. This needs to get posted over and over again, facebook it, Twitter it. Email to friends. I just heard about this last night. Most do not even know about it.
