Biden: 'We Misread How Bad the Economy Was' (OR MAYBE YOU WERE JUST PLAIN WRONG!)
Politics ^ | July 5 2009 | AP

Posted on 07/05/2009 9:11:46 AM PDT by blueyon

WASHINGTON -- Vice President Joe Biden said the Obama administration "misread how bad the economy was" but stands by its stimulus package and believes the plan will create more jobs as the pace of its spending picks up.

Biden, in an interview airing Sunday on ABC's "This Week," said the nation's 9.5 percent unemployment rate is "much too high."

"The figures we worked off of in January were the consensus figures and most of the blue chip indexes out there," Biden said.

"We misread how bad the economy was, but we are now only about 120 days into the recovery package," Biden added. More jobs will be created in coming months, he said.

What a moron!

It’s the government spending that is making it worse and NOT creating any new jobs.

I just don’t understand how the administration thinks that being completely wrong about the economy somehow warrants continued trust in their ideas.

Hey, I know “stimulus” was never really about improving the economy, and this latest is just a talking point. I’m just saying, it’s a stupid talking point.

Vice President Joe Biden said the Obama administration "misread how bad the economy was" but stands by its stimulus package and believes the plan will create more jobs as the pace of its spending picks up.

Their solution is the same wrong headed solution as was FDR's,
which led to a world-wide depression and the ascent of Hitler.

Biden said it's premature to say whether the country will need a second stimulus package.

Help me to see something RATIONAL in that Biden statement.

Obama is literally destroying America, right before our eyes. Do they really believe ALL can work for the government? The private sector is DYING.

two things...

1)Just gives proof to the fact that these so called smart libs aren’t so smart and don’t know jack...

2) they were fully aware of how BAD things were but thought their failed liberal policies and smoke and mirrors would do the trick as they claimed it would during the election and after. They were partly right. Their policies did work but in the wrong direction and made the economy worse. History has shown that moves like they have made make economies worse.

OF course, #2 is the right answer and Biden knows that. Now they are spinning it and will most likely claim the Bush Administration “mislead” them...

Biden doesn't get it. Nor does Obama. Nor did Bush and Cheney. It's the exported jobs, stupids.

There will be no recovery until we start producing. We have been trying out the sell only economic model with Walmarts, Shopping Centers and strip malls. The consumer lack of earning money is obscured by the government providing consumer stimulus to keep goosing up the sale only economy.

That well is now running dry. We have to restore the economy the old fashioned way - produce it here. MAKE HERE MAKE NOW.

I guess the good news here is that they are feeling compelled to acknowledge this.

This isn't acknowledging anything except a backhanded way of trying to say,

"America is beginning to realize how much we've ruined the economy, trashed the Constitution, and implemented socialism, so now we're trying to back into another way of keeping the 'crisis' alive while pointing the finger at Bush, and hoping you don't realize that it was a Democrat congress that $crewed you."

"Misread"? Weren't these the two who kept telling us this was the worst economy since the great depression?

They didn't misread anything . . . they made it worse.

Hmmmmmm . . . I was listening to the local radio station this morning - they break at the top of every hour with ABC Radio Headline News. About 8AM this was their first news headline and if I remember correctly it stated something to the effect of "Vice President Joe Biden said that they misread just how bad the ecomomy was "that they inherited".

Then at the 9AM Newsbreak they led in with the same soundbite BUT they cut off the "that they inherited" part.

I did not watch (or will not for that matter) the show on ABC that it came from so I don't know the exact qoute from Biden BUT if ABC Radio News ad libed the "that they inherited" part then I would consider that a nice little "Blame Bush astroturfing" trick.

Anyone else catch this?

ex-snook is exactly right when he said:
Biden doesn’t get it. Nor does Obama. Nor did Bush and Cheney. It’s the exported jobs, stupids.

The problem is that the ENTIRE 0zer0 agenda is to PENALIZE the private sector, or better yet, to socialize it and make it a part of the government. 0zer0 has no idea for jobs, except his utopian “green” jobs that will never happen.

Nobody can be this flawlessly consistent in getting everything "wrong". There is a different term for the Obama/Biden/Democrat unblemished track record of anti-American activity:

Evil

There is nothing "wrong" or "accidental" or "mis-calculated" about it. Their evil actions are destroying the American nation, Constitution, people, and chances of survival, exactly as they planned, exactly as we announced they would beforehand.

Partly right, they were just wrong, but they did not misread anything because they KNEW FULL WELL how bad it was and that it is getting worse. That was the plan from the onset.

We are being led by Dumb and Dumber...
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

We are in the early stages of a monumental depression, the thirties depression will soon look like the good old days. It might not need to be that way but the communist in the white house will make certain that it goes on until we are completely ruined, all the while telling us that prosperity is just around the corner. The government is doing NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but worsening a bad situation. Anything that might actually help will be shouted down as if it were the ravings of a lunatic.
