No no no...these are Federal jobs. They’ll just transfer these guys somewhere else or let ‘em sit in the break room with pay.
So the states are using the stimulus funds to buy newer equipment that requires less people to operate.

It sounds like thanks to Porkulus the airport will need a multimillion $ upgrade to fit in the equipment - there’s some job creation, YEARS DOWN THE ROAD!

It appears that the equipment is from GE. GE’s medical imaging department (from which this appears to be derived) is headquartered in the UK. GE doesn’t say where the actual equipment is manufactured. So we could be spending stimulus dollars on equipment not manufactured in the US which will reduce the number of TSA screener jobs in the US.
How is that stimulus?
On the other hand, GE has a political action committee. GE has been a major recipient of TARP money already. This continues the excellent rate of return achieved by GEPAC.
