I was doing what this site is for--and what the nation is about: exorcising my free speech rights, giving my opinion.

Well, in a word, No.

Didn't read the FR home page by the proprietor, Jim Robinson, did you?

We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Well, I must admit, it has been a long time since I read the home page. So, I decided to give it another read, after you so graciously called me on my neglect.

Are you really wanting to argue that this site is NOT about free speech and giving one's opinions?

If so, I guess I shall have to point out the obvious--ALSO on that very same front page:

"We are a political discussion forum......Free Republic is a site dedicated to the concerns of traditional grassroots conservative activists. We're here to discuss and advance our conservative causes in a more or less liberal-free environment."

In an effort to 'discuss', I gave my opinion that I think Sarah Palin has hurt the cause for conservatism by quitting her job as governor before her term had expired. I do not admire nor appreciate this move by her. I think it is a mistake. In my day, conservative values included fighting for what you think is right; NEVER quitting and always finishing the job you started. In Sarah's case, the job she ASKED to be given.

This woman is the only mega personality at present for the GOP.

That is so true. Name your reason but it is a fact that this woman can draw a crowd like no one else on the right.
