And we've got to somehow keep the left from getting them on the ticket like they did McCain. If it weren't for "open" primaries, the left wouldn't be able to impose their will on the GOP side of the ticket. We never would have had McCain.

I’m not thinking about 2012 President runs yet. I’m trying to figure out how to throw the commie bastards out of congress in 2010.

I like Palin. I only donated to McCain after he tapped Palin. She’s the best hope we’ve got of radical change in government — probably because she hasn’t come through the brain grinder of 7 years of Ivy League education and then 15 years in Washington or state level politics — after the compulsory stint on Wall Street or at a big law firm — and the country club. She’s still one of “us.”
That said everybody is counting Jindahl out and I don’t think one bad speech ends anything for him.

No Romney, no Huckabee, no Rudy...no RINOs.
And we've got to somehow keep the left from getting them on the ticket like they did McCain.
Close the primaries so only registered GOP can vote.

To expand on why Haley Barbour... he is not only a principled conservative, he is also a seasoned politician. He knows how the game works, is able to speak well on TV, and is able to operate well with the media.
We need someone not only with the right conservative principles, but also someone with good political instincts.
The worst outcome is someone who is neither conservative nor has good political instincts. Think John McLame, and his decision to suspend his campaign to push the stimulus.

Palin does have powers that the other contenders lack. She is a peach.
Sessions is too mild mannered to even be a VP pick.
