It's always nice to see the leaders of the United States and Russia having a pleasant summit.
But let's not fool ourselves into thinking the statements mean much. In July 2008, President Bush and Russian President Dimitri Medvedev had a meeting at the G8 summit:
PRESIDENT MEDVEDEV: (As translated.) Well, indeed, we had this exchange today with George concerning various issues on the agenda of our relationship, including those of domestic importance, trade and investments, and internationally related matters, including those conflicts and crisis tendencies in the world. And true that on certain matters we do have differences originating from the previous background and differences are there. And on the others we have absolutely similar positions. But what is really important, the dialogue is there and there is a commonality of the overview on various things between us.

What the Doofus-in-Chief fails to realize is that kindergarten “best friends” playtime talk doesn’t work in the real world. Nations don’t have friends; nations have allies, and allies are proven not by words and deep bows, but by actions. Russia will ALWAYS act in its perceived best interests, which is always contrary to the best interests of its neighbors and satellites, and all the hot air “good will” in the world won’t make them act any differently.
The Russians will play Obama for a fool — and rightfully so.
No president in history has had such a huge slush fund at his disposal thanks to a gullible American public.
Hussein is getting PWN3D! bigtime, and anyone with a modicum of intelligence can figure that simple fact out.
Just like the stupid budget he submitted, just like his porkulus bill, just like the idiot tax-cheat cabinet he assembled...for God’s sake: Joe Biden? Tim Geithner? Holder? Hitlery???
Unbelievably lame politicos, and Hussein thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room. Everyone in his circle tells him that, and then he goes off to meet with these foreign leaders who certainly laugh their ASSES off at him behind his back.
Yeah, he’s hurting our allies, our nation’s reputation, and sadly, our men and women in uniform with his pretend diplomacy. The only question is how many innoncents will suffer because of his naivete.
I’m waiting for good ol’ Joe to say something like:
“Well darn those Ruskies, we guessed wrong about them too”
