Obama warns Senate away from compromise health plan
Washington Examiner ^ | 7/8/09 | Susan Ferrechio

As the Senate debates two separate health care proposals, President Barack Obama is making it known from overseas that he wants the one that creates a massive government run health care option, not the co-operative system some Democrats are considering. Obama sent out a statement letting senators know he is "pleased" with the progress but believes "as I've said before, that one of the best ways to bring down costs, provide more choices, and assure quality is a public option that will force the insurance companies to compete and keep them honest." He added, "I look forward to a final product that achieves these very important goals." The Senate Finance Committee is drafting a proposal, favored by many centrist Democrats, that would create a health care co-operative that would be initially operated and funded by the government.

In other words, he lies about wanting to work with Republicans when in fact he’s an ideological egomaniac that won’t take no for an answer.

God help us.

a public option that will force the insurance companies to compete and keep them honest."

The Kenyan knows this is a lie. The public-option, since it won't have to make a profit, will undercut the private insurers and ultimately drive them out of business. Then, the Alinsky-trained community organizer will see his dream come true. Government run health care. He's got the auto companies, he's got the banks, next he'll have the entire medical community. Unless he is stopped cold, this once formerly great country will become Cuba north. Be prepared for rationed medical care and long waits to see a doctor.

Barry never intended to work in a bi-partisan manner. It was nothing more than political rhetoric meant to pacify.

Barry’s aggressive socialist agenda has no room for “working” with Repubs, was never meant or intended to. Hence why they are cramming this garbage as fast as they can down our collective throats before the mid-term elections in 2010. The math is simple: “Never waste a crisis” especially when you have a Dem majority in both the House and Senate.

well, Bam, using your logic (and leaving aside the oxymoronic use of “government” and “honest” in the same statement) why not then also have:

a government run Auto Insurance company
a government run Life Insurance company
a government run Credit Card company
a government run Restaurant chain
a government run Grocery Store chain
etc. etc. etc....

Just to keep the big guys honest, of course...

The only thing more disgusting than his power at all costs Alinsky method of governance is the unwillingness on the part of the Republicans to call him for what he is: a Marxist, corrupt thug that pretends to play nice.
