Guys like Kmiec need excommunicating. Sadly, the Cardinal in charge in LA is out to lunch. And that’s being kind.

“somewhat of a poisoned chalice”

The pellet with the poison is in the flagon with the dragon. The chalice with the palace holds the brew that is true.

Good on Malta for recognizing the poseur Catholic, Kmiec.
I didn’t think his appointment would fool the good Catholics of Malta, and this confirms it.

Sounds like, by promoting Kmiec as Ambassador to Malta, he's trying to deliver a slap in the face to the Knights of Malta, who are strongly traditional Catholic, and pro-life.

Kmiec, though pro-life, was a strong supporter of Obama, and by doing so, confused other Catholics about the Church's teachings on Social Justice and abortion, and convinced them to join him in supporting the most pro-abortion President we've ever had.

Though describing himself as a Republican and a Catholic who believes in traditional marriage and the beginning of life at conception, he (Kmiec) said he believed as president Obama would respect and accommodate opposing points of view.

Yeah, how's that 'Common Ground' thing working out, Doug?

"describing the appointment as “somewhat of a poisoned chalice” "

Bingo. That's one way of putting it.
Or maybe just a secret handshake.
