Photoshopped the pic. Under magnification, although rather pixelated it definitly dosen’t look like patent leather and has the look of some sort of gator hide.

Yep, the whole hand bag and shoe thing I will never understand. I bought a red, patent leather purse on a clearance rack at Anne Taylor for $37 and I get compliments on it every single time I go out.

She was able to afford buying the bag with the money she saved by using veggies from the ‘White House’ garden.

The $5,950 shiny black manila alligator clutch, a smaller version is shown above, is part of VBH's Spring 2009 collection.

I swear I live in bizarro world. If the Bush’s were caught with this in hand, while droves of American people were losing their jobs and homes, there would be outrage in the media.

If you have to ask :-)
Haven’t you gotten the memo? Everything is relative. Relative to $5000, $875 is affordable. The Obamas are big leaguers. $875 is about right for Big Leaguers. We poor chumps couldn’t possibly understand what “affordability” is for Big Leaguers.

So? Chewbaka got some nice sneakers and a shiny purse? Rest assured that the Sarah Palin wardrobe police are keeping a very close running tab on Her Highness's clothing allowance as well.
And dogs don't lick themselves inappropriately at times.

Well, I’d like to know how the O’s are acquiring all this high end stuff? Are they paying for it? Getting a deal? Are they gifts? And are the O’s violating any ethics rules and/or tax laws if they ain’t paying full freight?

A $6,000 purse damn well better come with $5,950 worth of cash in it.
