"Perot had victory in the bag when he ducked out. Far too many people wouldn't support him afterwards because of it."

Exactly the trouble Sarah is going to have now that she has quit. I beg her to change her mind! It would be easier to fight charges of flip flopping, than charges of being a quitter. I heard she called Giuliani and Crist for advice. Of course they, like Steve Schmidt, are Republicans who do not have Sarah's best interests at heart. She outshines them, and is their greatest competition for the nomination! I believe they did not give her good advice.

I must respectfully disagree. There's no comparison between what Ross Perot did and what Sarah Palin has done. I'd have mountains more respect for somebody seeking a higher office who resigns their currently held position in order to focus their efforts than these criminals we have now, who draw a paycheck at the taxpayer's expense while running for an entirely separate office. By definition, at best it's conflict of interest! At worst, it's common thievery! I think that the law should immediately terminate the current public employment of any office holder who officially runs for a higher or lower office while actively serving IN an office at the time. Have you considered equating this to the commercial world? What employer in their right mind is going to pay for you or I to completely abandon our work functions for them with their FULL KNOWLEDGE in order to focus on getting a better job?! Have you tried that out lately? Let me know if you get away with it and end up keeping your previous job if the better one doesn't work out!

Truthfully, neither you, nor I, nor anybody else here really knows what Sarah Palin is up to. Everybody has an idea, a suspicion, a doubt, or a theory. But nobody really knows. There's no comparison between her and Perot. Perot quit when he was well onto his way to a win. He got cold feet after listening to the wrong people. Palin, if ANYTHING has simply resigned her Governorship for who knows why at this point. But even if she DID do this in order to focus on pursuing a higher office, then she garners more respect than Perot, or any of the other jackass political thieves who take a paycheck for serving in an office which they IGNORE while running for another.

The only thing I know for certain right now is that the left and the RINOs (and the GOP for that matter) seem to be terrified of her. There's a lot that we don't know. But somebody knows something, otherwise there wouldn't be so much panic about her recent move away from Alaska state politics. Right now, at this point I'm counting this as a positive thing. That's about all anybody can say about what she's done at this point.

To call her a quitter however, is simply unfounded.

Thanks for providing the link but your source says that on may 7 she called Cheney, on may 8 called crist about a vacation in alaska, and on may 8 called guiliani about a speech rudy was to give in alaska and later went to a yankees game with rudy.

Early may is too early to be talking about resigning. furthermore, no way would she consult crist, cheney and rudy on a single subject. They are way too diverse for that.
