Add to this the fact that this bum also endorsed Romney in December 2007 and you got a guy that has "part of the problem" stamped on his forehead.

Indicative yet again, when one spends too much time inside the beltway, one contracts liberal thoughts!

Only group to donate to is Heritage Foundation. They are the only "conservative" group that did NOT embrace open borders and other "liberal-lite" ideas and positions.

I used to donate and attend ACU yearly event but quit after having Keene treat a conservative Canadian at my table with disregard and a very snippy attitude.

Remember - it's how you treat the "little"' people when no one (except a small few) are watching, mirrors the genuine attitude of servitude and humility (same goes for Frank Luntz - a TOTAL JERK!)

Keene is a liberal scumbag who needs to be swiftly removed from his position in the ACU.

By December of 2007 it was clear that the nomination was going to go to either McCain, Huckabee, or Romney.

We’ve seen that, in addition to McCain not being conservative, he was unable to win.

I know some here liked Huckabee and thought he was conservative, but many didn’t see him as a fiscal conservative at all, which is a major focus for the American Conservative Union.

Hunter was already gone, and while Thompson was still running, it had become clear from poll numbers that he wasn’t likely to survive (a month later, he dropped out).

Rush Limbaugh eventually tried to steer his audience to vote for Romney or Giuliani rather than McCain. Others did the same thing.

Tom Tancredo endorsed Romney as well. And if you posted Romney’s campaign platform without a name on it, you’d get widespread approval here at FR for the conservative positions he was espousing.

Many people who had a chance to sit down and speak directly with Romney came away believing he would do what he said he would do in his campaign. A lot of people didn’t trust that he had changed.

I have no idea why Keene would give money to Specter in 2007, although the amounts are rather small.

I have no other knowledge about Keene’s views on the issues, but generally have found the American Conservative Union to be respectable.

It is very important though that any person who says anything negative about Sarah Palin be attacked brutally, harshly, loudly, and without regard for truth. It’s the Alinsky way, and as many have said, it worked for Obama so why shouldn’t Conservatives adopt the same rules?

"Not to be outdone, Massachusetts’s Mitt Romney, whom many believe could retire the 2008 pandering cup before he’s through, assures conservative audiences wherever he finds them that he’s pro-life, essentially pro-gun and horrified by homosexuality, previous statements or actions notwithstanding. Anything he said or did previous to deciding to run for president, he implies, should be taken as a reflection of what he had to do because of the circumstances in which he found himself rather than of his core beliefs."

Thanks for linking the original comments by Keene so I could read them. He did not bash or trash Sarah Palin. He stated the obvious and gave wise advice. He also noted that she cancelled on her speaking engagement at CPAC2009 after she had confirmed. She and her people could not even manage to deliver a video appearance.

I have never seen statements from Palin that she is a conservative. She has claimed to be a ‘maverick.’ I also don’t know what her position is on the crucial issues of the day: socialized medicine, cap and trade and nuclear disarmament.... all of which issues she is distracting us from with her drama.

We need to be contacting Reps and Senators to work on legislation to stem the tide of socialism in the U.S. When Palin decides what she plans to do next, she will let us know. Personally, I am more interested in the welfare of my country.

Nice to see someone finally notice. Sad that it took “Palin-bashing” to bring it to light. I would challenge all conservatives to start peeling back the layers of the onions of the rest of the so-called “conservative” DC organizations that harvest tens of millions of dollars from the rank and file, while regularly selling them down the river. Most of them have been bought out lock, stock and barrel by Romney.

Here is what I don’t understand. Assuming all of these “conservative” pundits, columnsists, and figures who are attacking Palin are really conservative then why the hell would you air it in public. Even if I believed that Palin was wrong (which I don’t) I would never air my frustrations with her so all of the leftist scum could lop it up. Why the hell would any conservative want to be quoted by the enemy as siding with them? This is what I don’t understand about Erick Erickson of redstate.com. Are you proud of yourself that you are quoted in the Washington Compost as siding against the person who makes the liberals shake in their panties?

That`s terrible!!! Speaking of Sarah bashing...Rick Santorum trashed her last night on Gretta Fox News. I only mention this here because Santorum also endorsed Arlen Specter over a good Christian Republican...name slips my mind at the moment.
