Well, should’ve seen this coming: conservative blog Free Republic fired hate speech off at Malia Obama after this photo of her appeared, letting their commenters go to town. But the journalist who reported this as news isn’t innocent, either. Chris Parry of The Vancouver Sun highlighted some of the comments on the mainstream, hard right-wing blog/news aggregator Free Republic.

I understand why some reporters steer clear of political stuff. Some take it far too personally, but at the end of the day, nobody over there has been able to tell me what wasn’t correct in my piece.

And with your mindless zombie-like predilection to take whatever an elected official tells you as being good for you, the pantomime is complete. If you’re not a Marine, you missed your calling. They could clearly use some more yes-men.”
I can’t speak for other former Marines, I find it funny that in this guy, who is shocked, shocked to find (planted) bigotry, is bigoted against Marines. Yep, we are all dummies, and the brilliant and colorful characters I met in my career are all figments of my retired imagination.
Letting this clown wallow in his own sty of hatred for all to see is defense enough. The gratitude I’ve received for my service from folks, often face to face, makes the behind the keyboard contempt of this type more of a laugh than an irritant.
I understand the outrage, because the words are contemptable. I admire your desire to defend the honorable things that your husband and his comrades have done, and my hat is off to you for all that a military spouse endures.
Just sit back and watch what happens when the FReepers turn over the rock this worm was hiding under....
