Here’s hoping it’s in the pancreatic “tail” and not the head.

The head of the pancreas has the common bile duct passing through it so a cancer there would block off the duct causing jaundice and cancer cells can spread up the duct to the liver's biliary system. It's an ominous prognosis to have pancreatic Ca either head or tail.

Yeah. But pancreatic cancer in the tail:
A. Takes longer to kill and
B. Causes way more pain....

It works both ways. A gall stone can block off the pancreatic duct, causing the pancreas to swell up like a balloon with powerful digestive juices, and then explode, dumping them into the gut.

It's quite painful. Quite painful. Trust me on this one...
