Sonia Sotomayor: Racialist Actions?
Entitlement Syndrome ^ | 07/13/2009 | Admin

Today in Washington, DC at the United States Senate, U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Sonia Sotomayor will undergo at least several days of examination of her fitness to become a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), which is a lifetime position on the highest court in the land.

...The most common dictionary definition of the word “racialist” is that it is “an emphasis on race or racial considerations, as in determining policy or interpreting events.” We’ve already been told of Judge Sotomayor’s declaration — when she thought she was speaking off the record — that it was her belief that judges indeed engage in making policy from the bench.

We also now know of her racialist actions in at least one case in which she’s participated. Those same dictionaries also say a racialist act is “Policy or practice based on racial considerations”. To us, we can clearly see that the Ricci case is heavily laden with such actions on the part of Judge Sotomayor, for one.

...It is said that people tend to show their true selves in their most unguarded moments. Speaking to fellow “legal elites” in a casual setting, Ms. Sotomayor affirmed her belief that creating or making policy is a proper role for the courts. We wonder what members of the Congress — in their own unguarded moments — would really say about such a usurpation of power by an unelected judiciary?

...In the case of Judge Sotomayor — who has demonstrated that race must by necessity take precedence over law — we also must stand against her nomination to the highest court in the United States.

I’d say her comments have been more than racialist, in fact racist. There is no other word to describe the belief (or hope) that one race is better at judging than others.

This is a golden opportunity for some republican to lead with a speech damning a vote for this racist jurist Sotomayor as the unAmerican, racist act that it is. Further, it may be said that Sotomayor’s placement on the Supreme Court is a signal to all Americans who are not HER kind or approved of by her are second class citizens

The Left would do EXACTLY this, except of course, that they'd be lying through their teeth.
