Growing up in Public Schools, I was always told that racism came from white people. However, my experience with racism was decidedly different - it was the BLACK kids who were constantly degrading the white kids by calling them crackers and honkies, and using the slightest pretext to beat up white kids. Very seldom did a white kid say anything derogatory to a black kid. As a matter of fact, the whites did their best to suck up to them, probably in the hopes of avoiding a fight.

I saw racism alright, but it sure as hell wasn't from whitey.

The new mayor has a plan:

What are they in, a prison compound?? Hwy 61, the "Blues Highway" is almost a write off if any of you have traveled it, used to be a lot of fun. I don't know how 220 people can fund much of anything and they sure don't need some of my tax money for a fax machine or phone. Most of those folks have cell phones, I'll bet you.

My roots go back to the MS delta. As one poster has already noted, there are quite a number of black mayors in MS so what's the big deal--constituents mooning and acting like barbarians I guess...

The only racism in the story was on the part of some minority slobs waving their privates at the new X-mayor. These days every moronic action is considered newsworthy which says alot about the state of reporting.
