Chiago’s Mayor Daley did the same thing to 2 cemeteries on the NW side to the horror of the families. And those cemetaries weren’t even in Chicago. Barely a menton in the news.
But on this a feeding frenzy. Why?
Because it's a historic cemetery, at one time the only place in Cook County where blacks were allowed to be buried. Emmet Till and Dinah Washington are among those interred there.
Our German firends told us that in Germany it happens about every 150 years. They don’t have anymore land so once all of the family is sure to be gone they recycle the grave sites.
