Cap-And-Trade: Bridge to Economic Disaster?
CNBC ^ | 7/14/2009 | Staff

Outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called President Obama's approval of cap-and-trade legislation to counter global warming "an enormous threat to our economy" in a Washington Post op-ed piece Tuesday morning.

AP Sarah Palin --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stephen Moore of The Wall Street Journal agrees with Palin, calling the program the "India and China Redevelopment Act" because all of the related jobs in the United States are going to move there.

Moore also referred to the legislation as a "war against the Midwest" because many Midwestern states rely heavily on coal for utilities, and utility rates are bound to increase in those states.

"This just destroys a lot of jobs," Moore said. "Those Midwestern states get creamed under this bill ... States like Illinois, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan depend heavily upon coal for utilities and utility rates are going to go way up."

Liberals heads explode when Sarah goes off on Obama. They just can’t take it. They love their Teleprompter in Chief so much, they would jump off a cliff for him.

Funny, as one with considerable education, I find Sarah’s reasoning to contain a great deal more logic than that Nobel-winning economist. What was his name? Crookman? Crockman? Idiotman? Must be from Harvard.

Boxer: Making Everyone Poor is My Goal, Helped by Al Gore
July 14, 2009, 12:07 PM
Barbara Boxer wants to challenge Al Gore to be the chief scaremeister of America’. “If the Senate doesn’t pass a bill to cut global warming, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer says, there will be dire results: droughts, floods, fires, loss of species, damage to agriculture, worsening air pollution and more.

All she has left out is locust and the killing of the first born (she supports the killing of as many babies as possible already).

She does not mention that the bill gives billions of our money to China—where her fellow Democrat Dianne Feinstein and her husband are involved in massive investments.

She does not mention that a similar program in England has raised the cost of energy for the average family by $1003 per year. Yet, in the midst of a government created depression, she wants families to go hungry.

The bill supported by Boxer would force Americans to retrofit their homes, at the cost of tens of thousands of dollars, before they are allowed to sell their homes. Pass this bill and home values in the United States will plummet over night—killing more families and destroying the elderly—but, then she is very rich, it will not matter to her or Dianne.

Shame on us for not laughing at this measure and just asking what is the punch line to this joke?

WHat I do not understand is how people like Al Gore, John Edwards, Barbara Streisand and on and on, can lobby for things like cap and trade and still live in their huge mansions.

I guess only the peons need to worry about their carbon footpront.

Streisand:

Gore:

Yes liberals hate Sarah, but this op ed she wrote explains why the establishment GOP hates her. Out of all the people who have opined against Cap and Trade, only Sarah has been able to garnish criticism from the left (and this kudo) the SAME DAY HER OP-ED is published!!!!!

Because Sarah is the ONLY one with enough balls in the GOP to call out Obama. Look at Lindsey Graham, he can’t shut up with his Obama love. Sarah calls Obama out, libs can’t stand it because you know why, THEY KNOW SHE IS RIGHT and they CANT STAND IT. Admitting a Conservative woman is smarter then their beloved supposed genius messiah makes them go bonkers

Cap’n-Tax is a constitutional monstrosity. It turns enumerated powers upside down, so now every activity has a federal nexus because it uses energy and energy impacts the environment. The transformation from a government of limited powers to one without restraint is close to being complete.

With the alleged fall of communism (actually, they just swapped their uniforms for blue suits, tucked their pistols into their waistbands and changed their names — and darned if one didn’t move into the White House!), the Globull Elite needed a new BOOGEYMAN with which to frighten and control the dumb masses (say it fast for maximum effect): THE ECOLOGY and MAN CAUSED GLOBULL WARMING GOT THE NOD!

Oh yeah, I forgot the cool part about picking the pockets of the wealthier nations to enrich some of them and their leading drum major, Algore while bleeding the nasty old United States white. (PAGING ALGORE – PAGING ALGORE…log into your dozen bank accounts ASAP. They are WAAAYYYY over the FDIC insurance limit! Username reminder: FREAKING_PHONEY/Password reminder: Village_idiot)

The elitists’ ultimate goal of all this man-caused GLOBULL WARMING HYSTERIA is to level the nasty old U.S. with the Turd World despotisms with which we are to be merged into their New World Odor (misspelling intentional) where TADA (trumpet fanfare here!), the GLOBULL ELITES will BE IN CHARGE.

Questions??

They say that a lottery is a "tax on stupid [and poor]" which may be arguable. At least in a lottery one has a chance to win and usually knows the risk of losing fixed amount of money and odds of outcome. What is unarguable is that one can "win" nothing with C&T or estimate the costs, so Cap-and-Trade is truly a tax on poor and stupid, which Dr. Howard Dean's absurd logic and statement has just proved.
