I still say the legislatures of these states should give the go-ahead to drill and exploit these resources and dare the feds to do something about it.

When the voters there get a whiff of what it will cost them to keep returning these representatives to DC, there may be a sea change in their politics.

Actually, the reason why this and the Balkans are being drilled is because the oil is below PRIVATE property.
People in ND own this land and will lease it to oil companies to drill.

The problem we have in this country is the govt. will not let us drill on PUBLIC lands and PUBLIC oceans.

I would love to see one or two states take their sovereignty into their own hands. Use local NG as protection. I bet a good many citizens would show and somehow try to protect the operation as well. Let’s see the 0s try to open fire on them or something else extreme.

I was just thinking the same thing; reading through the thread to ensure I wasn't posting the same thing as another right thinking soul.

Except as long as Obama and his corrupt goons are in power they will block any domestic energy production in favor of importing everything we need as payment for their pals in the Middle Eastern countries. We need someone like Saah who understands our economy depnds on cheap energy sources. The other stuff is fine to experiment with, it’s a pipedream to force us to depend on it!

Such a “rebellion” must be at the state level, with the legislatures voting on a resolution, the governor signing it, and the NG called out if the feds invade.

Yes, at that point, the governor could also call for the unorganized militia to back the NG.

Obambi will just take page from the Klintoon book and create another Escalante Grand Staircase park out of North Dakota and Montana.

Anything to turn our country into a third world nation that they will run in perpetuity.

Except this oil may be located under the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation and I beleive they can drill all the oil they want to on their lands.

They’d better hurry and drill before Barry O bans drilling there.

,,moving towards energy independence

Since the days of the Arab Embargo of oil in 1973 this phrase has been been repeated and over by congress.

36 years later our public servants are still stumbling along while they go fatter while gorging themselves at the taxpayers trough.

it amazes me that some true American organization has not brought the O. gubmint and/or anti-American Congress to court! Why is O. and the Commiecrats allowed to shred the Constitution by taking over our freedoms and rights? Why are we allowing them to do it without a whimper?

The democrats who are on the arab oil money dole don’t way to give up their monthly stipeds. We spend over $400 mil a year for Saudi oil...and we’re almost swimming in our own oil, but cannot get to it. There is something terribly WRONG in Washington DC and it ain’t the water.

Exactly. If they actually find it, Obama and Congress will find a way to put it off limits.

What do you think the ammo/gun sales were about?
People know the conflict is coming, when they attempt to crack down on us completely, and we finally say no.

The Fort Berthold Indian Reservation is also trying to build a refinery to process this oil into gasoline.

As I have freely informed many Liberal journalists,
“I hope you enjoy the ‘Rat Majority in the House & Senate because starting 11/2010, it is ALL coming to a screeching halt! “If” Americans wanted to live in Socialism, they'd move to Europe...hint, hint, hint!”

We can only hope & pray that the Gelding Old Party gets a testicle & spine implant before next year so that they can begin to retake the Majority in the House and/or Senate. AND with double-digit unemployment, double-digit inflation and double-digit interest rates by 2012, Obama will be just another Jimmy Carter..."one & done!"

Semper Fi,
Kelly
