Palin becomes MoveOn target as SarahPAC cash haul surges
CNN ^ | July 14, 2009 | Rebecca Sinderbrand and Tracy Sabo

(CNN) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's political action committee is confirming a flood of new donations that push her cash haul close to the million-dollar mark, as one of the nation's largest liberal PACs announced an ad targeting the former GOP vice presidential candidate.

Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton confirmed a report in the Anchorage Daily News that more than $200,000 had poured into SarahPAC since Palin's announcement a week and a half ago that she would be leaving office by the end of the month.

Those funds, along with $732,867 received through June 30 according to federal campaign finance filings, leave the governor just shy of a million dollars in donations to date since SarahPAC's January launch.

[...]

The news came as MoveOn.org began e-mailing members Tuesday, asking them to fund a rapid response ad blasting Palin's new Washington Post op-ed that criticized President Obama's position on "cap and trade" legislation — a major part of the administration's effort to overhaul the nation's energy policy.

The group said Palin was positioning herself as the face of conservative opposition to Obama's energy policy, telling supporters her op-ed was "a marvel of misinformation and outright lies."

The group has not yet said where the spot would air, or revealed the scope of any potential ad buy.

It is not just communists that are typically PARANOID. Our brand of radical leftists are scared too — OF SARAH PALIN or anyone like her.

Patriotic Americans, who care about country-first, protecting our Constitution, preserving American freedoms and values are major threats to the despicable radical left fringe in this country. Hence they do the ONLY thing these losers can do: character assassinations, negativism, lies, distortions and personal family attacks. They really are sick.

Folks this is why the establishment GOP pinheads HATE Sarah Palin. Several inside the beltway GOP politicians and educated economists have opined about the perils of Cap and Trade. The left barely blinked sending the signal that they don't matter. Yet Governor Palin writes an OP-ED and the same day gets slammed by online columnist and targeted by Moveon.org. The GOP wishes it had people with enough gravitas that the left actually worried about what the think.

Unfortunately, there will also be “bumps in the road” for Sarah Palin, after she fully endorses John McCain’s re-election to Arizona’s U.S. Senate seat in ‘10 as well as probably endorse other RINO candidates over their truly conservative opponents for a variety of political offices in ‘10 and beyond.

The fund-raising letter from MoveOn.org is boilerplate. Sarah joins an impressive list of people who get the libs blood boiling and serve as fund-raising fodder.

“What’s MoveOn so afraid of?”

They know the bogeyman that prime their donors.

Fear of Palin brings in more money than invoking Cheney or “Neo conservatives”

If Palin is such a moron and inconsequential figure, why are the libs working OT to detroy her? If the libs truly believe the above, then wouldn't it be better to just shut up and let Palin fade into history? They are obviously terrified of this woman and what she represents. I hope Palin is up to the non-stop attacks.

I kind of like it. Puts her on some sort of level with Obama on the issue—and she’s got the more popular and defensible position.

Romney and the others didn’t want to take Obama on, so they don’t get the attention.

I can understand that she would endorse McCain, as a sign of gratitude (he picked her after all).

But I can't see her endorsing other RINOs over true Conservatives. She has laid out her agenda of supporting candidates (not bound by party... so no RINOs) who support her vision of energy independence, national security and small government.

What did Sozhenitsyn say something about you only have power over someone so long as you don't take everything from them. Maybe a little over dramatic, but Palin giving up her governor slot has no votes to lose anymore. Uh oh, she's loose! What do you do now Nazi George?

"Palin is attacking Obama's clean energy jobs plan to keep us hooked on Big Oil and Coal. Her lies are a real threat because she gets lots of media attention. Can you chip in to run an ad to counter Palin's lies?"

HAHAHA! Can you say desperate?

They know she is not an idiot, that is what scares the crap out of them. They know Obama’s poll numbers are plummeting, they know that if Sarah is able to advance Conservatism they are FINISHED. We can take back the Senate and the White House. Look how hard the media worked to get Obama elected, they worked harder then anyone I have ever seen. Obama to them is Jimmy Carter x 50. If their agendas are not passed by 2012 and Sarah and Conservatism win, they know they will never have another opportunity to destroy America like they want to right now

Sarah has already mentioned that she fully supports McCain’s re-election in ‘10, but she hasn’t make it official yet. She may also support Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio. I really want to be wrong about these things!
