President Obama gave a sneak peek of his strategy for his ceremonial first pitch tonight at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in St. Louis, saying he wanted to loosen up his arm a bit.
Obama did not do any practice pitching at the White House but plans to warm up in St. Louis tonight with some throws to Cardinals All-Star First Baseman Albert Pujols.
The president recalled his first pitch in the 2005 American League Championship Series between his native Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
I just wanted to keep it high, he said. Now, there was no clock on it. I don't know how fast it went. But if it exceeded 30 miles per hour, I'd be surprised. But it did clear the plate.

I'd like to see him hit the middle of the plate from the mound while wearing a bullet proof vest with about 50 thousand flash bulbs going off at once in the stands.
After all, Dubya did.

Better plan on about the second inning partner. The zero is gonna be in the announcers booth at some point. I’ve been in an ultra foul mood since I heard that little tidbit last night

"It was the most amazing pitch ever! by any president!"
"I just felt my leg tingle!"
"Did you see his pecs ripple under his shirt?"
"Historic!"
"Poetry in motion!"
"Watch out Beckett...here comes Obama!"
and on and on ad neuseum...

Yeah, it will take the bloggers to get the news out if they do boo him, because the State Run Media won’t do it.

My thoughts exactly, be interesting to watch just to hear the boos and cat calls. But the STATE RUN MEDIA is probably already prepared with it’s own applause track.

There are only so many ways to say "pussy". I have never, ever yet heard of a "celebrity" warmup for such a thing.

They showed another angle during his press box appearance. His media was right not to show the plate in the live shot; Pujols had to reach over the plate to catch it. Yet the twit showed off as if he’d thrown a strike.

Yet the twit showed off as if he'd thrown a strike. Thanks for the update. I thought he had thrown it right over the home plate by the way he acted all excited. I hope someone in the crowd took a video and will post it on YouTube.
I was already disgusted having to listen to his bs on the heros. Congrats to those heros, but NOT to him. I don't know if I can stand another 3 1/2 years of him whistling through his teeth. LOL Picky huh? ;o)
