Palin Power is my user name at TeamSarah, how cool is that!! Speaking of Sarah and FreeRepublic, I had a great idea last night. Since on July 26th Sarah will be officially a private citizen, how about we invite her to joining this web site. I am not sure if she is aware of this site, but perhaps we should invite her, that way she can get more of a general idea of what Republicans and Conservatives feel right now and she can get an idea of which candidates she should support. Like she can come here and ask “What do you all think of Mark Rubio?” stuff like that. I think that would be AWESOME!!
I plan to have MORE DETAILS soon.
Hi,
I’m a newbie around here, and I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts. :) I was just going to say though that the president of the Simi Valley chapter, as well as another organizer of the event, informed me yesterday that they completely sold out of tickets last week. :(
If anyone hears otherwise, please email me, because I’d still love to attend! My family and I still may join everybody outside, but it would’ve been so great to hear Sarah’s talk inside, of course.
All the Best,
Kenzie
R.Hughes, July 16, 2009 7:43 PMRegarding the Simi Valley Republican Women's Club event at the Reagan Library on August 8th:
I have a friend who was planning on visiting the Reagan Library on August 8th, prior to catching a cruise out of LA on the 9th. When I told him she was speaking, he inquired about tickets. It took a lot of effort to track down the right person, and when he did it took some serious convincing to get them to send him the ticket purchasing info. Their biggest concern was that since it was a cold call they thought he was a reporter, and they said that they are not allowing any press at the event whatsoever.
They also said they were planning for 2000 people to be in attendance.
The info they sent IS advertising that Gov. Palin will be speaking.
I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else...
So, your friend was able to talk their way into getting tickets? Lucky!
I’d re-email the people and send a link to my personal/professional website that shows I’m a licensed person in a careerfield that has nothing to do with reporting, if that could help sway them at all to recognize I have no reporting motivation to be there...?
And it was posted there LAST WEEK -- before they were sold out, I think.
Confirmed by SVRWF - my name is on the guest list along with 899 other lucky ones! SOLD OUT
Watch for us -- supporting Governor Palin on the OUTSIDE -- at a location to be determined. :o)
TOUR the REAGAN LIBRARY (and AIR FORCE ONE!) ($12/person, I think) -- from about 10 am to about 1 pm,All Sarah Palin supporters are welcome to join us for ALL THREE of these events, if you like -- or just the RALLY.
PICNIC LUNCH (free, if you "bring your own") in the picnic area just inside the main entrance to the Library from about 1 pm to about 3 pm, and
RALLY TO SUPPORT SARAH (also free, but the exact location has not yet been determined) from about 3 pm to about 6 pm.
Those of us at the free Rally outside the Library, however, may not get a chance to MEET, or even SEE her, even if she **is** there...but SHE (and the MEDIA) will know that we were there. :o)
Our three goals for this event:
1 - Get the most positive MEDIA COVERAGE possible for Governor Palin, SVRWF and the Reagan Library,
2 - Help the SARAH PALIN SUPPORTERS who cannot get into the event have the most memorable experience possible, and
3 - Minimize the damage that the ANTI-PALIN DISRUPTORS (if any) can do -- by keeping them as far away from the veune as possible, and countering THEIR appearance with OUR pro-Sarah supporters.
Palin picnic gets a big crowd - AP headline"PALIN PICNIC" -- I like the sound of that!
Perhaps we could DUPLICATE them -- all across the country! We could organize "Palin picnics" EVERYWHERE she goes -- it would become her "signature" event.
There would be a STRONG connection to FAMILY, "average Joe and Jane" -- NOT your "average politician" -- EXCELLENT "photo opportunity."
And, it would "Let Sarah be Sarah!"
Saturday, July 25, 2009AP: Large Crowd at Gov. Palin's Picnic

From the Associated Press via the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman:
WASILLA, Alaska (AP) -- More than a thousand people showed up for Gov. Sarah Palin's annual picnic held in her hometown of Wasilla.
Palin, who is resigning and leaves office on Sunday, used the occasion Friday to sign autographs and hand out hot dogs. The governor - dressed casually in blue jeans and a sweat shirt - was mobbed by well-wishers who offered up babies, books, calendars, skateboards and even their hands for autographs.

Several longtime picnic-goers said this year's picnic crowd dwarfed last year's.
More here.

“RALLY TO SUPPORT SARAH (also free, but the exact location has not yet been determined) from about 3 pm to about 6 pm.”
A good place to be is along the east side of Presidential starting at Madera Rd. For the Reagan Funeral the area within about 5 miles was closed to the public but they allowed our subdivision to stand at the intersection of Roosevelt and Presidential. We could see “the whites of their eyes” as the motorcade drove in. Margaret Thatcher looked at us and waved!!
We are still waiting for final instructions from the security team, but along Presidential Way is ONE of our options.
My concerns with being THERE, however, are:
- parking would would be a challenge, andWhere would people park? In your subdivision?- that is where the "opposition" may be.
Do you know if there is a way that we could get some kind of "permit" -- so that only OUR GROUP could assemble there?
I do not want any confrontation with the "anti-Palin" forces (if any) -- as I expect that we will have women with young children with us.
I recall that in the days before the funeral, before we went in to “lock-down”, thousands of people were coming to drop off flowers at the corner. Our streets were lined with cars and, as far as I know, there was no problem. A lot of the news trucks with satellites on top were parked on Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Lincoln, and Wood Ranch Pkwy.
I’ll do some checking about parking on our streets.
At the SE corner of Madera and Wood Ranch is a shopping area (Ralphs, etc.) and I’ve never seen it even close to full. It’s a very short walk.
I believe that, since the sidewalks are public, anyone — even the disgusting opposition — has a right to be there. When murderer/traitor Teddy Kennedy came, the mix was about 50/50.
The only bad thing about standing along Presidential is that we’d most likely not be in a position to talk to, or shake hands with, Sarah. She could stop and get out, but there are no guarantees.
BTTT!!
Be at the corner of Madera & Presidential around 4:30 with signs and flags!
Palin NOT attending Event At Reagan LibraryNot sure what to think.
If true, it means that Governor Palin needs a MUCH better staff. If this wasn't going to happen, they needed to nip this in the bud WEEKS ago.
I will take the blame for PROMOTING this event, though.
Sorry, Sarah! All of the threads about it are tagged here:

Palin NOT attending is correct unlike several news outlets that have used the term “Cancel”, furthering the idea Sarah is a “quitter”. The fear that Sarah Palin’s undaunting love for this country and strong moral character will strengthen the conservative movement has them foaming at the mouth with vitriolic contempt. Calling Bush a liar began slowly taking on a life of its own, regardless of the facts. I believe the same game is being played all over again.
It sounded fun, but I’m sure Palin will be in town again in the future!!
