So forget politics for a moment and just watch the video below. It’s a great behind-the-scenes look at the build-up to Bush’s first pitch at the 2001 World Series, and the strike he fired with the lights shining bright.

Not fair, though - GW wasn’t a metrosexual.

I guess Obama learned to bounce the ball in front of the plate while playing Cricket as a child in Kenya...

I heard an awful lot of boo-ing when Zero took the mound. I think they tried to drown it out with fake applauds through the sound system.

BTW, he threw like a 8 year old girl at the science fair! What a waste you POS!

A former baseball team owner SHOULD be able to pitch, even with a flack jacket on.

Good thing Pujois was standing in front of the plate and then moved forward to catch it. That ball would have bounced 3-4 feet in front of the plate.

I remember W’s pitch as if it were yesterday. It was HUGE given the pressure and tenor of the time. What a man.

I also think the initial camera angle for the live pitch was to protect O from being embarrassed on live tv. Did you notice you only saw O throw but not the path of the ball or Pujols catch?

We only saw the path of the full pitch well after it was thrown.

I remember when W threw it out in 02 there was a roar of applause I've never heard at a game before.

I remember it as well. You are right. It was huge. I remember literally cheering when he nailed the strike. At that moment in time, it was more than just a pitch.

What gets me is why he didn’t just go up there and heave it at Pujols. It’s not like anybody expects a filthy breaking ball or a sizzling heater. Don’t even try to ‘pitch’. Just heave like you would if you were playing catch. Throw it hard. Pujols will catch it.

Worst case, you throw it right over Pujols’ head, everbody gets a laugh, and at least you don’t look like a wuss.

I wonder if Palin throws like a girl.

"We only saw the path of the full pitch well after it was thrown. "

He lobs the ball in the dirt and then pumps his fist like "YES!".

Typical of the fraud that is our President Obortion.

W had an unfair advantage over Obama. Like other American children, he grew up playing baseball.
