Huckabee warns Palin: Don't leave GOP

(CNN) — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has a warning for Sarah Palin: Don't abandon the Republican Party.

The former presidential candidate and potential future White House rival of Palin's said Tuesday he's concerned about speculation the Alaska governor may leave the GOP to become an independent.

I hope she remains — let me be real clear — a part of the Republican Party," Huckabee told FOX News. "I'm a little concerned when I hear her say that she may sort of branch out and go third party or go independent. That would be a big mistake because we need to rebuild the Republican Party, not abandon it.""

Love it when a plan comes together. Palin, the tea party choice.

Sorry, but I have a problem believing anything Huckabee says is sincere.

He always comes across as a Carnival Barker.

And I am an Evangelical Christian.

She wouldn’t have to even think about that if the current Republican party wasn’t made up of RINOS.

The only plan that the RINO Party and its apologists have is to exploit Palin for their own ends.

Born again here too, and I think Huck is trying to get a date with Sarah. Sometime in 2011.

CNN trying to portray Huckabee as having any authority over Palin. LOL.

Palin will do whatever she sees as appropiate. I think she will stick with the GOP and try to save it from itself. But she certainly won’t take her advice from the Huckster.

The Republican party left Sarah Palin and millions of other conservatives.

Huck, if the GOP needs Palin, then the GOP better come down hard on the corrupt GOPers that have been going after her.

I agree with huckabee here.

Going third party is equivalent to opting out of the political system and deciding to have no voice.

Work to make the republican party better, don’t abandon it.

This sounds more like a backwards smear of Palin than some sort of sincere plea.

Has anyone heard that Sarah was leaving the GOP to have Huckabee state this? If not, then this is meant as a smear.

Huck is worried that she might split the ticket like Perot did, giving us Clinton. Kinda like he did giving us McCain.

There is an interesting line of discussion over at conservatives for Palin in some people believe that either Huck is trying to get local Republican election officials in his side, or he is trying to cause a wedge between the party and Palin.

Besides, he is feeding out of a line of attack from the MSM and he should know better. I guess it’s just another pundit trying to feed off Palin to get his name in the news. I wonder who’s next in line?
