“Palin’s completely inscrutable resignation speech last week was only the most recent example of a lengthy political communication from her that explained nothing, clarified nothing, and expounded upon nothing, save for the fact that she speaks in riddles and koans. Watch it as many times as you like; you still come away feeling you've been treated to a cozy chat with the Mad Hatter.”
I saw Sarah Palin’s resignation speech and it was a moving description of how she is devoted to her family and how she is not afraid to walk away instead of wasting her time and money on frivolous ethics investigations. I thought it was much more moving than watching your typical politician read phony phrases off a teleprompter. It was sincere and heartfelt and delivered without notes.
“the strangest part of the Sarah Palin saga will always be her loathing of the media.”
This has got to be the weirdest thing I've read in a long time. It would be strange if anyone does not feel utter contempt for the MSM for their vicious and mean spirited attacks on Sarah and her family. What is strange is why this columnist and all her friends fell compelled to launch false attacks on this woman and her family.
I'm not big on defending sarah. I am big on taking down the press. They are scum. They have tried to destroy Quayle, Bush I, Reagan, Bush II, Dole, Cheney, the million or so teaparty participants, Rush, Hannity, and a host of others along with Palin.
another liberal Jewish gal with big hair who views abortion as a holy sacrament and writes for Slate and hates uber Christ believer Sarah Palin.
i’m shocked I tell ya...
Go figure:
from Wiccanpedia:
“Dahlia Lithwick is a contributing editor at Newsweek and senior editor at Slate. She writes “Supreme Court Dispatches” and “Jurisprudence” and has covered the Microsoft trial and other legal issues for Slate. Before joining Slate as a freelancer in 1999, she worked for a family law firm in Reno, Nevada. Her work has appeared in The New Republic, ELLE, The Ottawa Citizen, and The Washington Post.
She was a regular guest on The Al Franken Show, and has been a guest columnist for the New York Times Op-Ed page. Lithwick, functioning in her role as Slate’s “legal correspondent,” frequently provides summaries of and commentary on current United States Supreme Court cases as a guest on National Public Radio’s newsmagazine Day to Day, which is co-produced by Slate.com. She received the Online News Association’s award for online commentary in 2001.[1]
Lithwick was born in Canada and she remains a Canadian citizen. She moved to the U.S. to study at Yale University, where she received a B.A. in English in 1990. As a student at Yale she debated on the American Parliamentary Debate Association circuit. In 1990 she and partner Austan Goolsbee were runners up for National Debate Team of the Year.
She went on to study law at Stanford University, where she received her J.D. in 1996 . She then clerked for Judge Procter Hug on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.[1] She is Jewish, and keeps a kosher home.[2]
In Slate, Lithwick has argued against draconian punishments for pedophiles and has instead pointed to uncontrollable biological urges as being the cause of such behaviours. [3]

Dahlia Lithwick? Never heard of the buttwipe...
Apparently this is the Austan Goolsbee who was Obama's long time chief economic adviser and is now on the Council of Economic Advisers. He is the guy involved in the incident during the campaign secretly telling the Canadian government that Obama favored NAFTA.
Well woopie friggin’ do!!!
Not you, her...;-)
Why?
They are absolutely terrified of our conservative leader!
she sounds lovely eh?
can you imagine her tired shrill histrionics at dinner table
Sarah’s being bright, beautiful, accomplished, strong and independent and having a handsome adoring husband and having a child she did not abort is more than bitter Americans can take. What’s really the kicker is that liberal women are bent out of shape by her. She’s all they said decades ago they wanted for women. She’s better than Bella Abzug, better than Gloria Steinem. She has all they said women should have AND she’s positive, not a whiner! My God, she even sometimes wears skirts - certainly the mark of the women not to trust!
The Left’s parchochialism (their grad schools didn’t cure this - it reinforced this) does not accept that Sarah did not grow up in the lower 48 or that she has a big family and has recreational hobbies they don’t.
I need Slate to tell me who to vote for like I need another ex wife.
Can handle ‘reformed’; so long as we do not throw the ‘baby’ out with the bath water. Just getting rid of the dirty water will be a huge move forward.
Bttt....I’ll be back!
Misunderestimate her to your peril.
I see a pattern in your comments. You compare yourself to Sarah and consistently misspell words, use words out of context and in one instance sound like a ‘valley girl’.
Perhaps you are young... and do not know any better... or perhaps you are trying to ‘dumb’ down the conversation on Palin threads.
Well said.
