What the governor is missing is that with cap and trade, Obama attempts a course correction in our national energy policy.

Sort of like the "course corrections" made by the 9/11 hijackers.

Energy is already among the most heavily regulated sectors in America. How much more "course correction" is needed?

That's a great picture!

I'd like to see every service station in the country do that for a few days, to get the message out. They could just add $10 / gal to their actual prices, and leave the pumps set correctly. People would figure it out, and it would be quite a message.

Once energy sources are competitive, the watermelon environmentalists “discover” that the energy source is dangerous.

This has happened with nuclear and hydroelectric. It will happen soon with wind if it continues to increase as a viable source.

I don't think you have to worry about wind becoming cost effective, for a very long time. Wind power has lots more problems than we are led to believe, and the "environmentalists" are already attacking it, anyway.

Solar is well on the way to becoming much more cost effective in the next few years, so it will be the next big target for criticism.

Geothermal shows great promise for 20 or so years out. I've already heard one liberal express concern about cooling the interior of the Earth.

Locally, my university is already trying to convince people that geothermal energy use causes earthquakes. Big headlines in Dallas paper note 2.0 richter level quakes and how people felt it and how ‘they are not sure its caused by geothermal

It is such an utter lie and yet I can see how this intellectual industry of observing microquakes will be used to destroy all access to resources under ground.

Wind is a rather large contributor to the grid in Texas. I still think coal is much better but know its all going to regulated to try to choke off capitalism.

Wow. In the editorial page of The Washington Post, our soon-to-be ex-governor just delivered a howler of a jeremiad: If President Obama's cap and trade proposal for carbon emissions becomes law, America will crumble.

Sarah Palin is exactly correct! America will crumble with this punishing, unjustified tax. The entire concept is based on a false premise. There is no scientific or economic justification for this punitive tax.

America may crumble anyway, as the rate of unemployment accelerates because the corrupt and crazy people who run this country have no concept of basic economics, or they do not care. Everybody has a RIGHT to health care. Kennedy will be smiling all the way to his place in Hades if this passes.

All Sarah has to do now is come out against ObamaCare and libs heads will explode. There will be lib guts all over the place....

I was thinking more of a “chest burster” from Alien :)

Sarah burroughs into a person’s body then explodes with force. The libs and RINOs scream in agony.

Wind is a rather large contributor to the grid in Texas.

It costs much more than other sources, even with Federal subsidies. Wind power can make sense for some applications, in remote locations, but it simply can't come close to competing with other power sources, on a level playing field.

There are many reasons for this. One that should be very obvious is that the output is highly variable, and cannot be depended upon for power on demand.

how come “(Palin Watch ALERT)” and not “(BARF ALERT)”?

Because steve-b is a Palin-hating Mittbott hit'n'runner?

Another steaming pile from the Alaska Dispatch, the same rage that ran the false story about her AG nominee being pro-choice, about Palin cutting funding for mentally challenged kids, etc, etc.. I don’t think they’ve run a single accurate story on her yet.
