If the appliances can be affordable and efficient, it would be an advance. If it lowers the quality of living in the name of the global warming cult, then no way.

That’s not a pool, that’s the cistern.

It's a 1950s TV commercial..

an adult couple is sitting on a porch swing supported by an A-frame.

Tied to the crossbar of the A-frame is the end of a vacuum hose (pointing downward).

The hose is connected to GE's new canister vacuum. The vacuum is turn on. The swing and the adult couple begin to rise . . . .

I vowed that I would never buy anything made by GE.

Let me guess: The regular model house is on the left, the one upgraded with thatching is the one on the right.

I don’t know why I’m giggling so much ... you’re probably right ... gallows humor I guess.

We already have ads for geothermal heating/cooling in our area. The big problem is physical access to the property to drill all the necessary holes for the loops carrying the thermal fluid. It takes about 5 holes of 200 ft depth to do the job. The electric pumps to move the fluid are usually installed in the basement. The "typical" install includes breaching the basement wall to bring the fluid pipes in underground so they won't be affected by freezing weather.

On demand water heaters (gas and electric) are fine IF you have a means of venting the gas heaters. A conventional gas water heater has vent pipes sufficient to support a 50,000 BTU burner. The flash heaters are 128,000 BTU. That requires a bigger vent. The cost of improving the vent for my home was estimated at $1,000 on top of the cost of the natural gas flash heater. I'll be room temperature (dead) before I could save enough money on the installation vs the standard 50,000 BTU/50 gallon gas water heater. It made no economic sense. For those who can install the heater without exorbitant costs for new vents, it might make sense.

Yes. And if your house doesn’t look like that, you won’t be able to sell it. Impeach the marxist.

Personally I’d love to have an Energy-Neutral house. Actually, I’d like to produce enough energy to sell it back to the utility.

Fascinating!

Especially since GE is trying to sell (dump) both their lighting and appliance divisions to the highest bidder - that hasn’t shown up yet!

I own some GE stock, and I still think that it’s a long term big time winner!

Boycott GE. Recently bought a fridge and bought a Whirpool which is a stand alone American company. Not part of GE or any other firm. I will never buy GE.
