I had a conversation with a coworker today. I basically said that the only thing I need to figure out is whether or not Obama is THE antichrist.
What would be the indicator? The bible gives us a subtle clue: if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, acts like a duck, quacks like a duck and it ain’t a goose, it’s probably a duck.
When John the Baptist couldn’t figure out whether or not his cousin deserved the title of Messiah, he was told to use his own judgement and check it against what the bible said he would see if this were the case:
Luke 7:22
And He answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have the gospel preached to themm. Luke 7:21-23
What would we expect if the antichrist were to arrive on the scene: the spiritually blind continue to grope, the spiritually lame continue to pretend they can walk, the untouchable uninsured have promises of health care, the spiritually deaf hear what they want to hear, the spiritually dead are in ascendance, and the poor in spirit only have the good news of Christ’s kingdom left as a hope to be preached. And then the end comes swiftly.
Well...I do have to say up front that I tend to bounce from traditional Christian ideas to Universalism, I sort of have two different takes on Revelation.
I see why people think this about Obama. And it’s freaky how much our country’s capital tends to mirror Rome based on it’s Architecture.
Obama has been with us before: Mao, Stalin, Hitler etc. I’m sure people thought Hitler was the anti-Christ during WW2.
