I want to see a poll on how many still believe we can’t do any worse than G. W. Bush! That should be equal to the number who don’t have two working brain cells.

Add to this the way Obama has been kissing the behinds of the Muslim community overseas and bad mouthing America and apologizing for vague things we supposedly have done and I would bet alot of people will be blaming him right from the get-go. His best bet would be to repeat verbatim Bush’s fantastic speech to Congress a few days after 9/11. That may help ratings for a few minutes.

What’s interesting to me is that, absent a couple of cataclysmic events, Bush’s two terms followed (more of less) the standard trend in presidential popularity - initial high hopes, followed by a gradual tapering off of support, ending with a sigh of relief when he finally departs the stage. This despite the single most concerted effort on the part of the media to demonize and disenfranchise a president in history.

By contrast, O’Bummer has had that self-same media at his beck & call, covering for him, and singing his praises every (mis)step of the way. And oh what praises. He isn’t called “Obamessiah” for no reason - he wasn’t touted as having the ability to walk on water - he is supposed to hover above it.

For all of that, lookie at his approval numbers. And look also at the trend. When you start at the top of the heap you only have one direction available to you, and that is down. If he had it in him to pull a rabbit out of a hat he might be able to arrest that slide, but we are learning that he is the reverse Midas-man - everything he touches turns to sh!t. It ain’t pretty now, and it’ll only get worse.

I’m just so disheartened about all of this...;’}

Ford Reagan and Toon all ended office with higher approval marks than their median average:

Ike and JFK never went below 50.....JFK died tooquick obviously but Ike must have been popular and the 50s were nice

these graphs show how goofy the public are and how much the media plays

"People fundamentally like hate this president, usurper and they believe he's smart an idiot and tyrant, incapable and strong weak and trying to do the right thing destroy this country," he said.

re: “Before long even the blacks who voted for him are going to want to tar and feather him. Well, his white half anyway.”

***************

Yes — some are already turning on him —

When many of them don’t get their gasoline paid for and mortgages paid for, ad nauseum, watch for them to turn on him. And yes, it will be the ‘white’ half they go after.

I remember hearing him speak long ago, around the time of his ‘04 Dem convention speech, when people were so ga-ga over his perceived potential. He specifically stated he made it a point to marry a ‘sistah’ though he could’ve married a white woman. He knew back then that he needed a black woman to push forward with his agenda. With a white wife he’d have been castigated by most black women.

[White House adviser David Axelrod called the “turbulence” predictable. . .”People fundamentally like this president, and they believe he's smart and capable and strong and trying to do the right thing.”]

Keep telling yourself that, Dave, until a million infuriated taxpayers descend on DC and surround the White House with torches and pitchforks.

GO BACK TO CHICAGO YOU LYING PACK OF THIEVES!

“Ronald Reagan may provide a closer parallel to Obama.”

You saw it here first...that’s among the most ridiculous comments I’ve ever seen..!

For one, he is on par with Ronald Reagan at this stage in his presidency. Another thing to note is that most all of them slip down as a trend.
++++++++++++++++++

Compare the press unity and Congressional unity, vs. Reagan...no comparison..

I think the comparison with Carter is much more apt...
