Yeah...I have a real hard time believing that JPM was speeding.
I was really thinking he was going to win today.
Did you see the analysis on tv of an earlier pit stop - where they showed Monty was 2 seconds faster on and off pit road compared to Tony Stewart but they had equal times stopped in the pits?
That tells me Monty was pushing it closer to the "5mph over" limit they allow, and the next time he pushed it too much.

I posted earlier about JJ being almost 2 secs. faster than Juablo on and off pit road in the first two pit stops. JPM just got a little itchy, imo.
:) I was one of few who put Dale Jr in for qualifying - gotta keep the faith - plus having a brand new car and practicing 6th the day before was a clue.
I love the races where we see practice before we have to pick teams.
However, Hornish’s fast exit cost me first place. ;p

Thanks for the pic - may have been a bad day but as a fan I was happy Lance’s new car was coming to him late in the race rather than fading. And, as a fan made me proud that he manned up and blamed himself for ‘perhaps’ over revving engine exiting pit road.
One of the engine builders said on Sirius radio that the new build car could be slightly ‘off line’ from what he has been driving for years and he downshifted to 1st instead of 3rd coming in the pits.
AND, Knaus was glad Jr said what he did so he could concentrate on his race and not worry about engine problems for other Hendrick cars.
I should add that he’s always quick to blame himself rather than others.
There should be a report from engine tear down shortly which will tell us what actually happened.
