Corzine to Millions of Honest Gun Owners: You're Potential Criminals and a Threat to Public Safety

Memo to the millions of American citizens who have managed to qualify for government permits to carry firearms: you are "potential criminals," and you are "a threat to our citizens' safety and well-being," even though you have passed criminal background checks and satisfied state firearms proficiency standards. That according to New Jersey governor Jon Corzine (D), who apparently thinks that the path to re-election later this year is paved by trampling the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

And don’t you dare question Corzine’s competence at Goldman. Or his buddies at Goldman who are picking your pockets clean.

Isn’t everyone, save perhaps the comatose?

Does anybody else find it hard to believe Corzine was in the Marines?

This state's gun laws are the reason I won't get a gun until I leave. Buy a license to buy a gun. The stupidest thing I've ever heard. All the guns I want are banned in the state anyway, so...

It’s amazing how frightened these dems are of the Constitution of the United States and of conservatives in general. Notice how they use words like “security”, “stability”, “change”.......

Unfortunately, a bill pending in the State Senate and up for committee vote 12/8 (S1774) is a bad dose of old medicine. It's a proposal to ration the Constitutional right of law-abiding citizens to own handguns beyond the existing regulatory thicket, which already slows exercise of those rights to a trickle. It ignores violent behavior and known sources of illegal trafficking, instead restricting only persons investigated and pre-certified as acceptable to own firearms. Even mainstream media recognize the ineffectiveness of this approach.

This is from another blog entry on the same page as the linked article.

They will always attempt to legislate our constiutional rights away from us rather then just outright attempt to take them. The are very aware of the hornets nest they are poking at. I am convinced our ownership of firearms has prevented them from taking many other rights from us.

And more people are understanding the importance of the 2nd amendment every day and exactly how precious it is.

Nothing succeeds like success.

The liberal eastern Dems always follow the SAME script:

Pull out the Guns and NRA, Abortion, Gay Rights, etc, and wiggle them in front of the facces of the liberal dopes who keep electing them to office , and Democrat voters start to tremble and can’t wait to pull that lever agains the eveil guns, abortion blockers, etc.

But THIS time, I don’t think it is going to work. Corzine has been too much of a horse’s ass on economics.

Corzine is an A$$-HAT. Considering the amount of corruption undertaken by the politicians of his state, the most recent being the huge bust for money laundering & organ selling, it would appear that you don’t need a gun to be a criminal or a threat to the public well being, ya just need to be a politician! He & his ilk are EXACTLY why we have a 2nd ammendment. The time to employ it to it’s intended purpose draws ever closer.

Someone needs to make available the stats for CCW holders who commit crimes.

They would speak volumes, but for somereason, the states do not find it in their interest to release this information.

This is what happens when people that claim to defend the 2nd amend attempt to compromise with the gun haters.
CCW laws infringe on the right to bear arms as much as any other gun control law.
We need laws that punish people for the criminal use of a gun. Not gun control laws that only law abiding citizens obey.
When was the last time a criminal obeyed a gun control law?
