Cronkite: Jimmy Carter ‘Smartest President’(But how many people did Walter convince anyway?)
LOL, Only one person did he convince, Jimmy Cahtah.
I wish ol’ Walter would have kept his Commie-Pinko mouth shut. The whuppin’ Jimmy took at the hands of his own ineptitude, and the best President in my lifetime should have silenced the fool forever, but with the help of sycophants such as Cronkite, he’s like the Ever Ready Rabbit...just keeps going, and going, and going...

To be fair to Uncle Walter, he was not the only person who cited Carter as the "smartest" President he had known.
Jim Wright said the same thing. ;-)
It's entirely fair to say that Carter was a lousy President; after all, the historical record is such that there is no disputing the assertion. As a President, Carter reeked out loud. However, he wasn't a complete dope, I guess. He graduated 59th out of 820 midshipmen at the U. S. Naval Academy, and a number of Congressmen and Senators who were present in Washington during his Administration were impressed enough by Carter's intellect that they had no problem in praising it.
By the way...did I mention that he was a near-complete failure as a President?

Uncle Walt ("The Most Trusted Man in America") says Jimmah the Nut Farmer was America's smartest POTUS One of the things that has traditionally made America great is the First Amendment right to free speech, a freedom exercised by another moron with an opinion differing from Uncle Walt.
Although there is no link, I'm quite sure Herself ("The Smartest Woman in the World"), would differ from both of these opinions, having been hitched to the Slickmeister. Isn't socialist America grand?

A lot of people can memorize textbooks and feed it back to the professor....garbage in/garbage out. Street brains and common sense rule.

He failed as a peanut farmer. He made no money.I have always privately laughed at all the peanut alarmists running around pulling peanuts off airplanes and out of school lunches, lest some one with allergies was anywhere near. That had to hurt peanut farmers a lot.

The Problem with Carter was his ample amount of Book Smarts and minuscule amount of Common Sense Everyday Life Smarts that caused all of his ideas to be theoretical and nothing that was applicable to the real-life situations.
Reagan had a good balance of both and he damned well knew how they applied to reality.

Amen. Whereas Obama bought into the Marxist/black power/hate America movement by age 20 at Columbia.
