Letter: Let's develop our own energy resources
The Las Vegas Review-Journal ^ | 2009-07-22 | Therese Ainsworth

...there is a national security interest in energy, and it will behoove us to eliminate our current practice of handing over our energy security and hard-earned money to dictators and thugs worldwide for oil and gas.

Most of us in the real world, however, see that the alternative does not have to destroy our economy further, as the ill-advised American Clean Energy and Security Act would do. The United States has the largest reserves of oil, gas and coal in the world, and more expertise in creating clean energy out of those fuels than any other country. We could keep billions of dollars in this country and create thousands, if not millions, of high-paying permanent jobs by just accessing our own resources. If only the political will existed in Washington to allow us to do so.

Although the alternative sources that Obamatons crow about are wonderful in theory and should be pursued, they require much more time and investment to reach the point where they are practical. Skyrocketing utility costs and thousands more jobs lost every week are a recipe for further disaster, and all the Kumbaya singers we have foolishly elected and left in office are ignoring us.

Wouldn't you rather see American money kept in our country and our own people employed and productive?

We have enough coal, oil, gas, solar, wind, water and possibly nuclear for generations. We have gold, diamonds, platinum, molebdynum (sp), polladium, gems, metals & minerals like nowhere else.

What the H3ll is the problem? Really? This is nuts.

Well Kalifornia is getting onboard even if it’s for all the wrong reasons.

Therese Ainsworth is looking at the House bill and she needs to be looking at the Senate's companion bill.

S 774 National Energy Security Act of 2009

The means for our energy independence is already in place, and people are catching on. http://www.pickensplan.com/ A major part of this is sitting in the Senate right now, to get our transportation fuel to domestic natural gas instead of diesel made from imported oil.

Thanx ! This hits home for me today. I just received the highest electric bill at my home that I have ever had. I called the power company and was told there had been three rate hikes since May.

The globe is awash in fossil fuels. Known reserves currently are at an all time high and continue to expand yearly with exploration, yet the Big Government 'Rats and ecotards keep the USofA from accessing its own fossil fuel sources, or building new nuclear power facilities. Obama wants to bankrupt the coal industry. Clearly, this situation can not be allowed to continue indefinitely without the healthy and righteous traditional American way of life being unnecessarily compromised.

Nuclear Power is vitally important as well.
