FReepers, pursuant to the actions of the Democrats in trying to block healthcare info sent to constituents by denying the franking privilege to the GOP, I made a call to the office of Congressman Kevin Brady(R-TX). Brady created the chart that the Dems don't want people to see.
I discussed with the staffer, who was the point man on the effort, that Brady needs to lead the effort for the public to send in stamps to pay for the mailing. If done correctly (is our side really capable of doing that?), it could be a coup in the media to both get out the info and show that the Dems tried to block it. The staffer loved the idea and will present it to his boss. After we give our money to the FReeperthon, maybe we have an extra 10 bucks to pay for postage?

Democrats Block GOP Health Care Mailing (Marxism is alive in well in the Democrat Party) rollcall ^ | 7/23/09 | Jackie Kucinich

Democrats are preventing Republican House Members from sending their constituents a mailing that is critical of the majoritys health care reform plan, blocking the mailing by alleging that it is inaccurate. House Republicans are crying foul and claiming that the Democrats are using their majority to prevent GOP Members from communicating with their constituents.
The dispute centers on a chart created by Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and Republican staff of the Joint Economic Committee to illustrate the organization of the Democratic health care plan.
At first glance, Bradys chart resembles a board game: a colorful collection of shapes and images with a web of lines connecting them.
But a closer look at the image reveals a complicated menagerie of government offices and programs that Republicans say will be created if the leading Democratic health care plan becomes law.
In a memo sent Monday to Republicans on the House franking commission, Democrats argue that sending the chart to constituents as official mail would violate House rules because the information is misleading.
In their eight-point memo, which was obtained by Roll Call, Democrats identify a litany of areas where they believe the chart is incorrect.
For example, Democrats argue that the chart depicts a Health Insurance Exchange Trust Fund that is simply a recipient of IRS funds, with no outflow. ... This is false.
The charts illustration of low-income subsidies is also misleading and false, Democrats argue.
Congressional rules for franked mail bar Members from using taxpayer-funded mail for newsletters that use partisan, politicized or personalized comments to criticize legislation or policy.

Note from Hannity’s producer that they may get me on the radio tomorrow to discuss the idea. (But not holding my breath since they have promised that before.)
Can we get a copy of what they want to send? Copies can be made and handed out and posted all over the Internet. Hell, I’d even stuff mailboxes and put them on car windshields.
What's the RNC doing with the cash it's sitting on?
the “information is misleading”...
..well, its likely to change a lot before the bill gets an actual vote.
I did not know the majority could deny mailings to the minority
“the information is misleading...
Much of what the Democrats do and say in Congress is misleading. That’s a very funny thing for them to hang their hat on in denying what every member of Congress routinely receives.
right.
Can the RNC spend a million or two to send these flyers all across the country?
They probably could, but here is an opportunity to get the issue front and center to show a grassroots movement of people sending in money for stamps so their fellow Americans can learn the truth the Dems are trying to hide. The PR value could be outstanding.
They are in firm command of power and can run roughshod over the minority. They will keep doing it until the GOP gets a spine.
Why should individuals be sending stamp money for this?
Steele should be all over this printing these things and mailing them by the bushel.
It is about time the national GOP did something more than just schedule ‘talkers’ for the Sunday shows...
Can we pay for the mailers in bulk mail rate so it would not cost the legislators and the party not as much money? We could target like 4-5 congressional districts with these flyers and have them spread like crazy.
Get it to Matt Drudge. Email it to constituents and ask them to pass it along. Get it to any one or many of the friendly websites out there.
There are just too many options for getting this type of information out there. Shrinking under the pointed gnarled fingers of Nancy Pelosi or the effeminate, breathy howls of Harry Reid is unacceptable. It’s torches and pitchforks time. Cannot rest until Obama, Pelosi and Reid are tarred and feathered and riding a log being carried around the Washington Mall.
How about this - we wait to see if the GOP actually grows a spine, gets involved, and earns donations from the masses. This is a great opportunity for certain - but getting the national party leaders to wake up from their naps and actually DO something would be an even greater victory than trying to make it a demonstration of some sort of ‘grass roots’ ‘net roots’ Howard Dean Ron Paul fringe BS. This issue needs to be front and center mainstream, and it’s needs the backing of the party.
Why doesn’t the GOP just tell the printing office (or whomever does their mailings) to start getting this mailed out, let Madam Pelosi tell the to stop.
When she tries to stop the printing and mailing, force debate on the floor about it. Introduce a bill - something to the effect that no party shall prevent another from freely communicating with their constituents about issues currently being debated in the House.
Every single time a Rep. stands up on the floor to say anything on the record, they should end their commets with “Ms. Pelosi” we will send mail to Americans. “The American people have the right to an open and transparent government, the Democrats are refusing the public of this right, we will not stand for it” Let her defend it, daily.
Hold press conferences telling the country that the Dems are so afraid of American’s finding out what is in this bill, they are censoring mail! Ask Americans to send in a stamp, or a book of stamps to their congressperson to get the mailing out. Tell Americans this administrations have spent billions of dollars and tripled the national debt but claim it’s too expensive to send YOU information on their boondoggle National Health Care bill.
Send the flowchart out via email with a note saying the GOP was bared from mailing this to you by the Dems. Thy do not want you to see what they are trying to force upon Americas.
In other words, raise hell and do not stop!
Two fold gain - it gets both issues into the news. Americans are sick of our government holding back information or flat our lying to us. It also assures the flowchart will be seen by many more people even without sending it out.
Btw, the GOP would be VERY smart if they begin to hammer home to American’s that this bill not only exempts illegal aliens from having to purchase health care insurance or to ennoble on the Gov plan, they receive full coverage at tax payer expense!! Remember when amnesty came up an Americans shut down the house phone system, hearing this will cause even more anger and action.

I got a letter from the White House yesterday replying to
the letter I sent concerning healthcare. But I have not
sent any letters to the White House since GWB. There was
money to use old lists and send out his own propaganda.
Sounds to me like pure old D “Censorship” of the type used by the “Third Reich” Democrat rule = Der Fatherland.
My idea of individuals sending money is to have the effort become a big deal in the news cycle. A grassroots effort for the people becoming involved and fighting censorship. I thought it could be a winning effort and get people really excited.
