She is enjoying her time away from the spotlight, spending time with her family and loved ones, traveling, and taking art classes. Over the past few years we have become pretty good friends and I speak to her every few weeks.
I recently wrote her about Saracuda, suggesting that

I do not get the sense that she has much desire to return to the limelight, and is instead seeking to find the path that suits her best.
She should have been a good candidate but the powers that be in the Republican party were totally against her. I think because she really was a conservative.
Of course the media treated her as a pariah which they always do when an attractive conservative candidate runs. For example Dan Quayle or Sarah.

Yes indeed, Liberals and Lefties hate both Sarah Palin and Katherine Harris for much the same reasons.
If you see her again let her know that lots of us crackers out here appreciated how she represented our state. We think she’s a really nice lady and we wish her the very best.
